When I first went to the page below, one of the presentations started immediately. Its the one from Tim Mason of 350Green. This guy has a similar view to mine. I don't fully agree with his numbers, but I do with the direction. The slides show what he talks about. He wants to pursue DCQC more than L1 or L2. It will be interesting to see what come out of this conference.

Good link, thanks

And, IMO, he makes several good points, concluding with:

"...Fast charging is the most cost effective way to deliver energy."

Nice to hear this this fact finally seems to be getting through to those in BEV infrastructure development.

What's more promising than that is 350Green is the company behind all the EVSE rollout's at Walgreens (at least in my area anyway), so perhaps they will start putting in QCs one day... I've been shocked (and pleased!) at how many local Walgreens have the EVSEs now.

Did anyone hear any news reports from this meeting? Their website does not even have a summary, and still has links to registration for this years event. A quick web search came up empty.

+1
My feelings about this have done a 180 degree turn in the year we have been driving electric. I was originally imagining there being L1 and L2 everywhere so that I could charge a little bit here and a little bit there. It didn't take long to realize L1 is good for maybe long term parking at the air port, L2 is good for medium longish term parking like at home and work and such but it is QC/L3 that is key. turns out I rarely have a need for anything but L3 out in the wild.

I'm glad to hear this line of thinking coming up more and more. bring on the QC's!!!
