I saw a post from someone from the UK on Facebook complaining that his new LEAF wasn't coming close to the advertised range of 124 miles. I couldn't believe that in 2014 Nissan would be doing that, but sure enough there it is on page 8 of the UK brochure:

http://www.nissan.co.uk/content/dam/services/gb/brochure/Nissan+Leaf+Brochure.pdf

There isn't even the usual disclaimers like YMMV - it just puts the figure out there from the wildly optimistic NEDC test cycle and misleads the potential customer. I suspect this may contribute to the LEAF's lower popularity in the UK.

Wow. That sucks.

A Nissan exec basically made same statement (but as 200 km) instead. I posted about it at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=304180" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Bad enough to tell ICEV drivers the Leaf is a "100 mile" car...

Does the UK use the same test cycle to overstate gasoline range per liter?
Yes, I think so.

Try visiting the URL below by copying and pasting into your address bar after you get redirected the 1st time. These are for the Gen 3 (current gen) Prius that achieves 50 miles per gallon combined on the EPA tests.
Code:
http://carfueldata.direct.gov.uk/search-new-or-used-cars.aspx?vid=23492
You'll notice this figures in miles per gallon:
Code:
Imperial Urban (cold) 72.4
Imperial Extra Urban 76.3
Imperial Combined (weighted) 72.4
You'll also see that 72.4 mpg listed at http://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/prius-specs-prices" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

But wait, these are in larger Imperial gallons. These translate into the following miles per US gallon: 60.29, 63.53, 60.29, respectively.

I recently took more than an hour to provide thoughtful response to Nissan on my three year ownership of a 2011 Nissan LEAF SL-etec.
Although it saddened me greatly I had to give LEAF only a 2 and Nissan in general only a 4.
Unfortunately Nissan isn't trustworthy.
Who wants to buy a car from a company you cannot trust?
GM anyone?
Sadly Nissan is falling into the same group

I drove from Cranford NJ to Toms River NJ which is 63 miles and I still had 50% of my battery left, So I should be able to do 126 Miles.

I LOVE my LEAF and have no problems with Nissan.

But I am only at 14449 miles, maybe I'll have a problem when I get to 60K miles?
