Besides legacy EV charging, you could use it to dry clothes with super off-peak EV rates! :lol:AndyH said:Not necessarily "goin' our way" but it's a start.

Maybe the evse suddenly makes it all OK
smkettner said:Don't give me a bad time for posting irrelevent info as it pertains to Leaf.
The whole thread is irrelevent to leaf.
If your EV has a NEMA 14-50p I would suggest installing a NEMA 14-50r long before an EVSE and J inlet. JMHO.
The thread should be moved to Other Electric Cars under Non Leaf Discussions

Suggestion noted and consciously disregarded as the title of the thread accurately describes the purpose and intended content.
I'd rather counter with a suggestion that those that can make adapters might choose to create their own devices and put them on ebay, rather than wasting their time bashing products someone else took the time to create and market to fill a need.
EVDRIVER said:This is a solution for existing OLD EVs and the better solution is what I mentioned, put a J inlet in the car.

Only better if you can modify your car. And how do you use Avcon if no J plugs?

J plugs are available, so are the connectors without the cords. In a short period of time they will be very inexpensive. If you have and AVCON or other EVSE your can change the cord and you are good to go for a Leaf.

It's not really going to help with newer vehicles equipment with the J-1772 standard... The box generates the "pilot" signal to get the J-1772 EVSE activated, and has what looks to be an 14-50 outlet on it to plug in your "old" charger.
