"Check USB memory or iPod" message

I get the "Check USB memory or iPod" almost every time I start the car.
I leave the iPod plugged in.

I unplug the USB and then replug and everything works.

Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?

Third gen iPod touch

It used to work fine, just started this

Did it happen after you updated iOS versions or maybe changed cables?
