G'day Y'all, It's been ages since I've checked in to this forum, nice to see it's still going strong. Currently around 45K miles on the LEAF, nothing major to report, main expense is the usual consumables: 12V battery, tires, windshield wipers. I did lose the second capacity bar a while ago...

Any other 6 year owners out there?

Not quite up to six years yet but close. Will get there Dec-2017. About 45K miles, 75% Hx. Lost two capacity bars. It's been my daily driver since I bought it and I still love it. :-) Cheers, Bert

My LEAF caught on google street view camera

As I was driving to work some time ago I noticed the google street view car behind me, so every now and again I check google maps to see if they published the images. Sure enough, my car is caught on camera...

Hi BamaLeaf, Happy to make your acquaintance! I see the occasional LEAF in my area, but not many. One is owned by a lady who works for Alabama Power, and as I understand it she is working hard both here and in GA to get EVSEs installed for folks in our area. If you're in the Hoover area, let...

G'day Y'all, Almost 27,000 miles in the LEAF so far, and no problems to report. I did finally lose my first bar earlier this year; no real surprise as the android app gave me plenty of warning so I knew it was coming. Still love, love, LOVE the LEAF! Not so much the depreciation; I keep...

Congratulations, Laith! I'm sure you and your wife will enjoy the car for many years to come. I'm up to three years of ownership this month, still have all 12 capacity bars, and have driven 22,600 miles so far with no trouble. Cheers, Bert

Well, still talking to myself, I guess. :-) Just rolled over 20,000 miles, still have 12 bars and still having a great time in my LEAF! I think there is a lot to be said for the "charge to 80% unless you really, really need 100%" rule. It seems to have worked in my case, so far, anyway. A...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

As soon as I saw Jim's question I thought about pipe-delimited records. I'd vote for that before suggesting the use of double quotes around all fields. Just my 2 cents worth. :-) Cheers, Bert / KG4BEC

Hey Greg, Sorry to hear you're moving away. We need to get together for lunch or dinner before you do so we can catch up. A good opportunity for other LEAFers in the area to get together too. Pick a day and a place, I'll be there! Cheers, Bert

G'day Y'all, Still having a great time with the LEAF: 15,500 miles on it so far, and running fine. This might be turning into a Bert-blog. LOL So I went to a Patriot Day event this evening and held up a US Flag on I-65 overpass, and just as I set up, I cannot believe I see a red LEAF!!! I...

Using clone ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter with Leaf

Hi Jim, Actually, it's not the beeping I'm worried about, as I can silence those no problem. You know how you can set up the phone to vibrate instead of ring? That's the buzzer/vibrator I'm talking about. So the phone vibrates or buzzes 7 times when the app tries to connect to the LEAF...

Using clone ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter with Leaf

Hmm, my post seems to have dissappeared. :-/ I had a question for Jim. I'm running v0.26h (beta) on a galaxy S phone and talking to my 2012 LEAF. The question relates to startup, or more precisely when the battery app connects to the LEAF. The phone buzzes 7 times with long buzzes. Is this...

Using clone ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter with Leaf

Hi Turbo3, Question about your android app. I have it running on my Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.3.xxx) to the ELM327 mini OBD unit. Works like a charm! Question is: why does my phone buzz/vibrate four times every time I start the app? This happens whether the phone is silenced or not. Is...

Hi! 13,600 miles and counting! :-) i still see the silver LEAF on Acton road fairly regularly but no response when I wave. Oh well. I know he (or she) golfs because he or she turns into the golf course nearly evey time. Picked up an ELM-327, plugged it in and connected to my android phone...

Gauging interest for ELM327’s modified for EV Bus

Something I would love to see: a product similar to these ELM327s but that could be piggy-backed. I'm thinking that with the approriate socket connector, it should be possible to pass-through all the pins except the ones you specifically want to tap. One for the EV bus, pass all the other pins...

    Leaf owners in Alabama?

There are a few of us in Birmingham. I haven't hit the forum in a while, but happy to see more LEAFs pop up in the local area! Cheers, Bert

Flashlight on the pistol grip of the charger EVSE

I found myself in the situation of the charge port being too dark to properly plug in the EVSE a while ago. My solution? Turn on the car lights. The light reflected off the wall was more than enough to illuminate the charge port and allow me to complete the connection. Cheers, Bert

I used to live in Melbourne (Elwood) -- does that count? :-) I'm in Birmingham AL USA now and I've had my LEAF about 18 months. Still loving it! Stopped in to visit family in November last year and had a chat with the local Nissan dealer for a bit of fun, but was floored when they told me...

G'day y'all! :-) I am seriously loving my car! Nearly 11,000 trouble-free miles so far in the last 13 months. A bit late getting my annual battery checkup done, need to do that. I have seen a new silver LEAF on Acton Road near the golf course twice now in the last few weeks. I guess we...

Greetings from new LEAF Owner in Australia!

Hello Leigh, Apologies for the (very) delayed response. I wonder what an Included EVSE would cost as a spare part replacement in Australia? Drawing 10 amps would be no problem at all on my 220v dryer socket in the States, which would make the 220v EVSE a perfect portable unit. Of course, I...
