Got a upgraded portable pansonic EVSE (from my 2011), $100 and your OEM one and it's yours. Deal ends Friday. North/central Phoenix

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

I plugged my VSP box back in after 3 years as the lease is up. Forgot how annoying it all was. Not only does unplugging it remove the backup beeper but I noticed when I plugged it back in, the "koto" chime started back up. Man I didn't miss that thing. Funny I wasn't aware they were related...

people getting rid of their Leafs/EVs/PHEVs and going back to ICEVs

Bahaha, I see the err in my thinking: Two income family != more money. Good point. lol.

people getting rid of their Leafs/EVs/PHEVs and going back to ICEVs

Dang, thats pretty low. I think I'm paying $360 on this one. Well when I bring it back in the next couple weeks, we'll see how just how willing they are to get me in a new one... Maybe I won't give it up just yet.

people getting rid of their Leafs/EVs/PHEVs and going back to ICEVs

A 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility. :D It's missing some creature comforts, but it also has a lot of room for my ham radios, and I got (what I think) is a smoking deal. $24,500. Regular explorers start at $32k. I like it a lot better than the Jeep.. lets see if it lasts to 170k like the...

people getting rid of their Leafs/EVs/PHEVs and going back to ICEVs

I had a 2011 for 3 years (lease) and it has come time for my 2013 to go back after it's lease. I'm glad it's going back. I still would not buy one here in Phoenix. While the pack was definitely better than the 2011, the past month or 2 have had noticeable range loss. I suspect I'll be losing...

    2013 Leaf bar loss.

Hmm, not sure. When I had my 2011, I was only commuting 7 miles each way. Now it's 20 so I have a much better sense of range degradation. Outside of my commute, the types of things I do make it conducive to having an SUV. I don't do as much offroading as I used to but still have a need for...

    2013 Leaf bar loss.

Sorry I haven't ready this whole thread, just wanted to report.. 2013 Leased in 12/2013. MFGR date says 11/13. Lost first bar today at 27,300 miles. I could tell it was coming. The past 6-8 weeks range has degraded quite a bit. Made it a lot farther before losing a bar than my 2011. I...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Yes, sorry, feel free to move my posts. Because I haven't used it since that version. And the only reason I used it in the first place is because I left my USBCAN adapter at work so I couldn't use my own CANMon program. I'm kinda over tracking data. I just drive and enjoy it. It's a lease...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Guess it's down father than I thought, but still much better than the 2011.

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

Math was never my strong suit.. lol. Based solely on observations, there is little change in range at the end of the day. Even if I loose a bar soon, I am still very satisfied with the range. I also drive much more aggressively than I used to. In my 2011, it was rare for me to go over 70. If...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

So I've been way out of the loop with this forum and Leaf news in general. I turned in my 2011 after 3 years and it was down several capacity bars. I got a 2013 to replace it (in Dec 2013) and (correct me if I'm wrong) that pack was the "improved" pack, but not the newer lizzard pack? In any...

CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

So, I used my low bandwidth page (http://leafic.com/cwportal/) triggered by a cron job to start charging every morning from 80 to 100% (so the car doesn't sit at 100% overnight). Imagine my surprise this morning when I got into a car that was only charged to 80%. I quickly find out that the...

    Visor Extension grew!

My 2013 SV has unlit vanity mirrors on both sides. I use it to hold my blink card. lol.

    Visor Extension grew!

One of my pet peeves with the 2011 was the ridiculously short visors. I was happy when Nissan added pull out visor extensions (not sure when but my 2013 has them). I have them on my 2001 grand cherokee (and they go all the way to the B pillar) and love them. What I wasn't so happy about is...

    Loss of acceleration

I've felt something similar but only when I accidentally don't move my foot over enough to the throttle and the brake is not fully released before the throttle is pressed. As an experiment, stopped, hold the brake with your LEFT foot just light enough to not move, then press the throttle...

Bought an HD Dash Cam for my LEAF - Check it out here...

Seems I've turned into a magnet for stupidity. This week alone... and I don't drive that much.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VtkQCvXuWA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not sure why the youtube embedd thing isn't working.

Bought an HD Dash Cam for my LEAF - Check it out here...

Got my G1W-C (from Spytec on Amazon) and confirmed its not a fake.. I used the power adapter they sent and modded it to hardwire it. Also shortened the USB side of it. I put it back in the housing. Strung it through the tunnel. I tapped the wires to the mirror in the headliner and...

Losing 12th bar, but keeps reappearing?!

Next time it happens, make sure you COUNT the capacity bars. I thought the same thing until I realized I was using the SOC bars *as a reference* for 12, only to realize that a changing SOC made it LOOK like the capacity bars were changing.

    Phoenix metro-area

Seems from other threads people experience brake problems when the battery is bad. (this was on new cars that had bum batteries, but I assume the same will apply...) I've always leased so I never got past 36 months on a battery. While it gets hot here, it's quite a bit hotter under an ICE...
