2018 Leaf won't talk to Nissan Connect EV apps

My '12 stopped responding to the App for several weeks - couldn't even get charge info. Just this week, it all started working again. I've had the updated hardware installed, btw - in the last couple of years.

Amazing City Car - 2018 Leaf

The LEAF has a flat metal roof like most other cars, so no reason you can't add an aftermarket sunroof. I did several years ago and am very glad I did.

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

I actually bought it from CarMax and had it shipped from OR to TX. I wanted all the options and one of a couple of colors. This left my options pretty limited since not many were ever made. I will say dealing with CarMax was great. I didn't have to buy once i inspected it (though I wouldn't have...

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

Yes, this is built by Mercedes on the same platform as the A, CLA and GLA. The EV bits are provided by Tesla, however.

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

Agreed. When I bought my LEAF, it was the only EV on the market you could buy. I would not have paid full price for this B250e ($52k), but at $25k pre-owned, I think it is a great buy! The kids love how smooth, quiet, and easy EVs are to drive. I really think that is what will ultimately sway...

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

Yes, heated seats (if equipped, and much better than the LEAF), but no heated steering wheel, which is odd frankly. No front camera, but has front radar (if equipped). Parking assist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojyWuxEN_Vc Yes, 2017 was the last year for the B250e.

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

Not that I'm aware of. I never pay any attention to my efficiency. I did when I first got my LEAF, but quickly quit looking. As long as they get me where I need to be, I'm good. The B is definitely not as efficient as the LEAF, but again, it has more range even so. Probably yes on the wheels...

    Upgraded '12 LEAF to '16 Mercedes B250e

My LEAF has nearly 90k miles on it, still works flawlessly and looks all but brand new (I'm a bit obsessive about my cars), but I decided it was time for something a bit more luxurious in my life. I bought a Jupiter red 2016 B250e with 9,400 miles and every available option, including the brown...

How Old is YOUR 12 volt Battery?

'12 built 11/11, 89k miles... still on original 12v with no problems. Hardly gets driven anymore. I bought a B250e last month and kept the LEAF around for my son (who hates to drive). Frankly, other than tires, wiper blades, and cabin air filter, I've not replaced anything. The original traction...

Nissan offers 2G Leaf owners a $199 3G upgrade, with just 24 days left

Got my new unit installed Friday and everything is working great again! Seems to work faster too. Honestly, the only thing I use this for is to turn cooling/heating on a few times a year, but it sucked not being able to when I wanted. Plus I figure it's best to keep my cars fully functional as...

Replacing door mirror in 2016 Leaf

The glass typically snaps on/off and is very easy. Just tilt it down and in as far as possible and then pull it off. Warranty, schmarranty... this should be a very easy job. I suspect you can find this OEM part online cheaply...

Is a used Leaf a good purchase for a first vehicle for a high schooler?

Both my kids (18 and 15) have learned to drive in my LEAF. They greatly prefer driving it to other cars we have because of how smooth, quiet and easy to drive it is. My (soon to be) 16 yo son, HATES driving my Mercedes roadster and will only agree to drive the LEAF - go figure.

Drivable mileage beyond 4 bar loss

I regularly drove my 39mile commute with 1/2 of that on hills and high speeds when my car went down to four bars lost. Sometimes with heavy (for TX) heat use I'd hit LBW, but rarely VLBW.

150,000 Miles on my original battery 2011

That's amazing - keep racking them up! I'm just under 68k on my '12, but that's with a replacement pack too.

2012 Leaf Teardown and Tabletop Demo

I've been wanting to do this for some time now. I did an old fashioned conversion of a Ford ZX2 a few years ago before the LEAF was available, and I've always wanted to take a complete LEAF and transfer it into something like a '64 Rambler Classic. Hell, even two complete LEAFs with common...

Lost my first capacity bar at almost 55,000

That's a pretty amazing example of the differences in battery degradation caused by temperature and location. At just over 54,000 miles in Austin, TX, I lost my 4th bar and received a new pack under warranty!

Nissan Leaf Rust and structural integrity.

I gotta agree - that looks like superficial surface rust and I wouldn't worry about it. maybe it just didn't get painted properly. If it's made of steel, it's going to rust. I had a little zx2 a few years ago that I converted to electric. It was EXTREMELY clean and rust free except for two...
