It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Okay, the car has been sold. I'm afraid that for research purposes, I didn't get a very "interesting" price. $23k. That's a different $23k than the first offer I got for that amount. The second guy was willing to bend over backwards to accommodate the whole "we need clear title before the...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Well, for those of you keeping score at home, I've received two offers from folks here on the forum. One for $19k, one for $23k. (That first one was from a dealer.) My Craigslist ad has been up for about 7 hours, and I've gotten one expression of interest, but no actual offers yet. (I listed...

For Sale: 2011 Nissan Leaf [SOLD]

No, there was no such thing as the cold weather package when I bought the car. I have the SL (the "best" trim package), plus the quick-charge port, plus floor mats, plus the little cargo net-pocket thing. Since I haven't gotten too much response here, I'm going to go ahead and take out a...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

You are correct that a buyer of a used Leaf cannot collect on either of those two rebates/credits. Not a dumb question. I think your math is essentially right. (I'm not sure if the $2500 CVRP is currently available. I haven't been paying close attention.) I share your confusion about why...

For Sale: 2011 Nissan Leaf [SOLD]

Yeah, dealers seem to want to offer $20-ish, and then sell for $30-ish. I can't blame them for wanting to make money, but I'd much rather "split the difference" with a private buyer, and do the deal for closer to $25k. We'll see if it works out that way or not.

    Here's a link to the garage-door-inflicted carnage.

My speaker install, and various speaker-related questions

Believe it or not, I finally got the second (left) speaker installed just yesterday! I've been sick, and busy, so getting that project completed wasn't super high on my list of priorities. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to sell the car, I may never have finished that job! ;)...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

I created an actual "For Sale" thread here. I appreciate all the comments, ideas, and well wishes I received here. Hopefully I can find my Leaf a good new home, somewhere. Questions and comments can be directed either here or there. I'll do my best to keep an eye on both threads.

For Sale: 2011 Nissan Leaf [SOLD]

[EDIT] The car has been sold, Thanks! Hi guys, As some of you may know from my other thread about this, I'm having to sell my Leaf. It's a bummer, but what can you do? If I sell to a California resident, I do not have to return my rebate, so I would prefer to do that. But if someone...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Thanks for the advice. Jim, we'll be living in Canton, GA, so our paths may very well cross! :) I figure that I will list the car on Craigslist, just because that seems like a good way to restrict the "audience" to people that are within Leaf-range. I will list it on this forum for a while...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

That still sounds crazy to me, but man-oh-man, I hope you turn out to be correct! Does anyone have any suggestions on how/where to sell it? Besides listing it on this site, would you recommend Craigslist? eBay? Somewhere else? I have very little experience with this sort of thing. I talked...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Hi, everybody. Another progress report: I spoke to Colin at energycenter.org. (California Center for Sustainable Energy) It turns out that they have stopped letting people "pass along" the rebate when they sell a car. So, regardless of whether I take the Leaf out of state, or sell it, I will...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Hi again. Here's an update: My wife and I spent a week in Georgia, and we thought it was actually quite nice. Our plan is now to buy a house in Canton, Georgia. That area is semi-sorta-rural, (kind of like a very spread out suburb of Atlanta, if I tried to describe it in Californian terms)...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Amtoro, that's very kind of you to do that leg work with the state of Georgia. I will certainly give them a call. It seems almost too good to be true that they would be willing to give me 2/3rds of the GA rebate if I registered my almost-new Leaf there. But, hey, maybe they will! My wife and...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Ah. Yes, I think you are correct. Much less paperwork that way. If the CCSE agrees, I would perhaps "keep" the full $5000, but I would reduce the price I was asking for the car by a similar amount. The benefit of the rebate would then be, in effect, passed along to the new owner. So, at...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Yes, I think the plan will be to sell the car to another Californian, rather than take it out of state. So, people are still getting the full $5k California rebate? My impression was that the fund had temporarily run out of money, and going forward, the rebate would be $2,500. I'll have to...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

Well, that's wonderful news. Thanks for the info and well wishes. It seems like selling my Leaf is probably the prudent thing to do, and it's nice to hear that all the various agencies are not going to make that more of a hardship than it needs to be. I did speak to someone at the...

It looks like I may be selling my Leaf...

[ EDIT: I created an actual "For Sale" thread here. ] Hi, everybody. It looks like I may be forced into selling my not-quite-6-month-old Leaf. I've become unable to work due to medical reasons, and that means I (we) can't afford to continue to live in California. (Mainly due to our housing...

My speaker install, and various speaker-related questions

A brief update... It took closer to five hardware store trips, and probably close to twelve hours spread over three days, but I managed to get one speaker installed! Now that I know what I'm doing, and have assembled all the necessary tools and supplies, I can probably do the other side in...

Probably not of interest to most, but - major audio overhaul

Very ambitious. I've never been able convince myself that I wanted to have anything to do with fiber-glassing! How close do you think you will be able to get the color? Or, do you plan on going with a contrasting shade? Somewhat off-topic: I noticed that you plan to use an Alpine...
