ENCINITAS: Downtown group hosts electric auto show May 26

Bump :-)...This is tomorrow. I will be there. Remember Ecotality will be there as well as some munis and there will be a open Q&A after the panel discussion. Prepare those "questions".....

Would you pay an Ecotality membership fee?

I don't expect free power and am very happy to pay for it. I just don't like the idea of some monthly fee just to have the opportunity to charge. I can just see Ecotality now, something like $9.95/mo + $5/hr, $19.95/mo + $2/hr, $29.95/mo + $1/hr.

You're awesome Jimmy...needed that laugh!

Would you pay an Ecotality membership fee?

In Ecotality's investor call, they talk about charging a "membership fee" starting in the end of their Q2. Would you pay this fee for access to their Public L2 EVSEs? For me the answer is heck no. I can't believe the government is paying them to install and deploy L2 and then allowing them to...

    Ecotality or LA DWP?

Why not do both? Get the EVP to install a blink and get the DC port then go buy another (reliable) L2 EVSE with the DWP money?

    Blink "charging anxiety"

I guess they'll be supplying their own firmware that isn't Ecotality's.

    That Voice

Its certainly not "La Jol-la" as most European tourists pronounce it!

More public Blinks in San Diego area

Purchasing the stock was probably a bad idea. They promised us 1,450 of the public L2 EVSEs. This press release only covers 12 more (6 stores * 2 at each store). If they continue at this rate we're going to expect another 100-120 more press releases in the San Diego area to get us up to the...

First Public Pedestal Chargers Installed - Tempe, AZ

Can you take some pics of the backs? There has to be some access method. I have a reward on some pics to the first user to crack one open. Also any FCC ids on them? Since its a different enclosure and maybe different antennas, they probably had to re-FCC the pedestal.

San Diego Leaf Gathering 4/23 at Hometown Buffet Mira Mesa

It was fun all! We will have to do it again in May!

    Balboa Park Charging Stations

You may want to inform Ms. Hasenauer of Ecotality's track record with current Leaf owners. Poor quality, device security minus, no EV Project participant tokens distributed, etc...I think Ecotality is at least 4-6 months from getting the public charging launched. The ones at Torrey Pines have...

    Blink smartphone app "released"

+1 -- Another example of how the Ecotality propaganda engine works overtime to diminish their sub-par engineering team. The word in the headline probably isn't an accident and probably is some milestone in their DOE contract.

    EV Project/Blink Installs

Randy--you're right on the money. Right as I entered the self-park gate, which is free during the day I found myself a Blink! The spot is unmarked and right next to a handicap spot. The Blink unit had the same firmware as I had .3A and the UI was completely open. There is a physical Ethernet...

    EV Project/Blink Installs

I have multiple times. The San Diego local contact knows me and has heard from me recently. It sounds like its more of an Ecotality management issue and not a local contact issue. We need a local charging network for the EV to succeed. Like Jimmydreams say, I too can travel to other places...

ECOtality Level 2 charger : Blink

We all agree things won't be perfect from the start, but the Blink is far from perfect. Actually completely opposite from perfect. They did save me the "install cost", which you could argue was $1k, but the Blink is not worth the $1200 sticker price. The hardware design is awful and the...

    EV Project/Blink Installs

http://www.voiceofsandiego.org/letters/article_1cabe29a-607d-11e0-b792-001cc4c03286.html I'm not sure that the home Blinks are working as well as he protrays but he is right on with respect to the public installations.

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

I've asked for source and no avail. Can everyone here ask for it? They have a requirement to give it out!!!

    Blink Mailer/Poster

Last October Ecotality spouted the following lies with respect to the San Diego market: 1,450 Public L2 Evses in San Diego to be installed between "November 2010 through June 2011"! 1,000+ Private participant chargers 60 DC L3s. To all those Ecotality employees reading this, the infidels are...

    New Firmware Pushed : L2R.1.4A

If you get my drift, I have a feeling its not too far off :-). The best thing is that the birdy told me that Ecotality engineers are so dense that the unit doesn't even need to be opened to be upgraded to a underground working firmware!
