OpenEVSE - Open Source Charging Station

The Hong Kong Tesla Model S has 3-phase capability. Don't know about Mainland China Model S. Hong Kong is RHD (right hand drive); and Mainland is LHD (Left hand drive). Therefore, the model Ss in Hong Kong and Mainland will have at least that much different. Tesla will ship with a single...

OpenEVSE - Open Source Charging Station

What would it take to make an OpenEVSE that takes 3-phase charging? It's to be used in Hong Kong on a Model S.

    No-Name 70 amp J1772 plug to 75 amp ITT plug/Tesla UMC mod

Thanks for the offer. I like your plug a lot. I need 80 Amp charging so I also need a plug that won't melt when charging at 80Amp.

    Surviving on quick charge alone?

You may use your regular 240V 13amp outlet in your garage. No need to install charging station in your garage. There is an incentive for EV purchase in Hong Kong. There is no FRT (First Registration Tax). The incentive is valid until March 31, 2014. I was talking to EPD (Environmental...

    Surviving on quick charge alone?

pizzahut99: The last couple of months (I was here since August) was really really hot. Did you have any capacity bar lost? What is the highest # of temperature bar?

    Surviving on quick charge alone?

pizzahut99: I am currently in Hong Kong, and would like to get a LEAF. I live in Hong Lok Yuen in Tai Po (western style house with 2 car garage, front/back/side yards). I already have 240V outlets in the garage. How much does a LEAF cost in Hong Kong? I presume you didn't have to pay FRT...

OpenEVSE - Open Source Charging Station

    I am a little confuse. NEMA 14-30 requires a 40Amp breaker. Doesn't a NEMA 14-30 plug allow 80% of 40 Amp (i.e. 32Amp max)?

    Official Toyota RAV4 EV thread

I am very sorry to hear all the troubles that some of Rav4ians have experienced. I have to say, I am fortunate that both of my Rav4EVs and Model S work great and did not see any of the problem some of you are having. As of this week, my Model S is close to 9000 miles, one of the Rav is 8000+...

    No-Name 70 amp J1772 plug to 75 amp ITT plug/Tesla UMC mod

Tony, my apology. I didn't read your email in its entirety. I will have to email Phil and ask him to post it here of the method of connecting the pins. By the way, Phil also fixed the poorly made Tesla brand 14-50 adapter so it won't melt (I have just proved his fix after charging 4 hours...

    No-Name 70 amp J1772 plug to 75 amp ITT plug/Tesla UMC mod

I wanted the ITT handle but at the time when I was ready to hand over my stuffs to Phil, I could not find it online :-(. Therefore, I end up getting the tusconev "Chinese" J-plug. Phil commented although it is rated 70 Amp, he doesn't think he'd trust that handle for much over 40A...
