Hmmm...ok...let us know how that turns out if/when you contact (or hear from) them.
Enjoying the write-ups. My wife loves the around view monitor and would love to get us into a 2013.
And looking at your signature, my LEAF battery is performing almost identical to yours (scary close) after...
Boomer, did you actually send the ~$1300 back to the CVRP? A couple months ago, I went back to read their rules so I could answer questions about the subject to people (including myself) wanting to do exactly what you did. The rules say that they have the right to claim the entire $5000 back...
It would be great if they could take a few of them, clean them up, give them a cool wrap, and put them into "butts in seats" programs in markets where they want to sell more. Getting people in them is the number one way to sell them.
Kat, Boomer: It's a great idea and can be done pretty easily in a parking lot. We have done it a few times after our meetings. The instructions can be found here: http://sfbayleafs.org/technical/diys/leaf-cabin-air-filter-replacement/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you...

(As you can tell, I haven't been in the forum for a while.)
We'll be doing a seat heater installation party here on Saturday, but we'll take out a minute and raise a glass of juice (or cup of coffee) to our...
Are people still interested in going? It's only 6 weeks away and I'm sure we could get a crowd up from the bay area if we knew that there would be a QC there. And I'm sure the race organizers would value the same as it would take a number of cars off their "grid".

The May meeting will be held at the Santa Clara...
Yes, that would be a great location for a meeting, especially since we've had trouble securing places in the East Bay (though we have a standing invitation in Castro Valley). Let us know what you find. A meeting space that can comfortably hold 50 would work out well.
Ghosn's attitude is that the LEAF and their other EV's (save, perhaps the NV2000) are mass market cars. As such, they have to design them to last 10 years, even if it means battery replacement. I see a lot of 8-10 year old Nissans when I take my wife's Altima Hybrid in for service at the...
Been trying to convince Nissan to support it again this year...so far without too much success. Last year, they decided to jump in about 10 days before the actual event, so it's fortunate that we got as many LEAFs on the track as we did. I'm afraid that, this year, the registration will fill...
