What's everyone impression when it comes to the accuracy of KBB and LEAFs? Do you think they are using the same criteria for their estimates that they use for ICE cars?
I didn't bother with them. To me, about all they're useful for when it comes to Leaf is to let a dealer justify their mark up over auction prices.SyrinxTemple said:What's everyone impression when it comes to the accuracy of KBB and LEAFs?
I guess you could try to cross reference with Craigslist and other ads in your area...IssacZachary said:According to KBB my car is worth more than what I paid for it one year ago!
SyrinxTemple said:Thanks everyone. The reason I ask is someone local is quoting me KBB price on a 2011 (SL with QC and regen braking) that only has 6 bars/40 mile range left. He says that it's in great shape otherwise and I believe him, but I feel as though KBB can't take remaining battery life into consideration, and therefore their numbers aren't applicable since there's a $5500 bill coming up for that car.
As I posted elsewhere, a year ago, this guy in a remote (to me) part of CA couldn't sell his '11 that was down to 8 bars (pretty sure of this) for $4500:SyrinxTemple said:Thanks everyone. Not sure what you mean by "regen breaking" but with only 6 bars I'd say it would basically have NONE. My '12 with 9 bars hardly has any regen, even at a lower SOC I'm lucky to get 3 bubbles, compared to my 11 bar '13 , the '12 hardly feels like it has regen, a 6 bar car will have much less.SyrinxTemple said:Thanks everyone. After reading back 10 pages in that thread it looks like my guess of $5-6k was spot on, about $5500 ($6500 and they give you $1k for your old battery). At that price an '11 no matter how clean isn't worth much more than $2-3k(IMO anyway). Personally, I'd much rather pay $8-10k for a 12 bar '13+ but thats just me lots of improvements after '12.cwerdna said:http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=17168 has replacement pack price.

B-mode is a new feature that began on model year 2013 SV and SL:SyrinxTemple said:jjeff said:Not sure what you mean by "regen breaking" but with only 6 bars I'd say it would basically have NONE.
Sorry, I was thinking that the B driving mode incorporated regenerative braking, and I didn't think B mode was an option in 2011. I take it I have all of my terms mixed up?
