Tested driving Nissan leaf last week , very happy with it and going to buy one. After reading the posts saying that the 12 bars on screen is only an estimated and also can be reset by the dealer. I am thinking to buy an OBD reader and use leaf spy to inspect the car before offering. Any good OBD reader to commend?
Many Thanks in advance.

The one in my signature is inexpensive, reliable and easy to use.

thank you! I am going to buy a 2018 after model, hopefully 2021model , will it works too?

I found this and recommended for an older model as well, not sure if it works for 2018 model and newer.

Yes. I've used the same one on a 2013, 2018, 2020, and 2021 Leaf.

thanks again. Too bad your OBDII reader is sold out everywhere in the US currently.

the 2021-01 leaf I am looking for is the same spec as the 2018-10 in the market, but $4000 more and 20K mileage less. Which do you think is a better deal in your opinion?

Here is the ODBII reader I purchased and it's still available (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGB4873/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1)
And here is a great guide on choosing an ODBII adapter (http://www.carscanner.info/choosing-obdii-adapter/)
My Vgate iCar adapter is in there; the old "you get what you pay for" axiom holds true on these things.
