So tired of how hard the cold is affecting my Leaf performence.

Can you at least give us an upgrade where I can use Gas to Heat all the passengers and all systems affected negatively by winter's cold. At least until you engineer figure out something better.

Better yet, a tiny generator slowly recharge my car while parking somewhere without recharging station.

Nice find
I love reading old threads like that one, back when the Leaf was just a young pup!
One of the posts linked a cool little device made by Coleman, a propane heater that fit in the cup holder  I was also intrigued by a Rube Goldberg Igloo A/C unit  lots of goodies in that 6 page thread. I like how one guy suggested a much more efficient heat pump for our Leafs, only to have someone else point out while it may be more efficient in less cold conditions, in the bitter cold it wouldn't work very well(how true that is).
Oh the issue that immediately came to my mind with the Coleman propane heater(non vented) is all the moisture it would add to the air in the cabin, it would be basically worthless in the cold if you didn't want moisture/frost or ice all over your windshield. After all basically burning 1lb of fuel would result in ~ 1lb of water all over your windshield and other windows, not good at all

Actually there is one of those already. It is called a BMW i3 w/range extender.

Volvo was tinkering with an EV that used an ethanol heater. Not sure if it was just for the cabin or also the battery. Seems a good idea to me.

Likely a function of geography of the manufacturer, higher priority in Sweden than California.

Volkswagen back in the day sold old aircooled VWs with an optional gas heater! I never had one but used to own and work on many old VWs.

FWIW, OP hadn't been back in over a month. Per http://www.mynissanleaf.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=23502, they were "Last active: Sat Feb 17, 2018 12:53 pm".

If they don't return, I think we can just let this thread die.
