64 months of lease payments only pays the price after cap cost reduction. If he qualified for zero interest loan, his payments would have been closer to $613 a month for 60 months.

3½ year lease? interesting...

Your Doc fees are insane. Not sure I could have accepted that but each state is different I guess. Interested in what your credit rating is. Some dealerships pad profit by manipulating the MF. Nissan is pretty liberal with qualifying for the best rate. I think its like 725? or so?

Re: 2018 Leaf (and auto insurance)

Thu Apr 05, 2018 6:53 am

At last check my FICO score was in the high 700's.

My auto insurance went up, even though this vehicle was "less expensive" at the start of the lease than the 2015 it replaced.

This, combined with the unrelated fact that I am in a partnership of an aircraft wherein we buy a "declared value" insurance policy, has got me to thinking I am being robbed by the insurance company, more than usual.

Does anyone have any insight into whether or not we are paying to insure the "rebate" amount of the car in our comprehensive coverage? I asked the insurance representative for the amount of money they are going to pay in a full loss and it was like talking to a brick wall.

Many people have found that insurance rates vary a LOT from company to company, so I suggest you shop for prices.

Lets talk about what you cannot control on your insurance rates. This excludes your driving record, long term business relationship with your insurance company, and the value of your car.

Insurance companies are basically investment companies whose SOLE purpose is providing a return on investment. The income for the investments are your premiums minus payouts minus the profit margin they desire.

So you want to blame someone for your increased insurance rates? Don't blame Nissan. Start with your neighbors

.

Inflation, at a minimum.

If you do not like the rate then start shopping. You are not going to convince your present insurance company to treat you to a special deal.
