S S
Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts
ELR seat belts allow belt motion for comfort under normal driving conditions, but lock the belt during certain decelerations. All seat belts have the ELR function.

Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) seat belts
ALR seat belts include both ELR and ALR modes. When the ALR mode is activated, the seat belt remains locked at all times. The ALR function allows a child safety seat to be installed with the seat belt without using a locking clip.

The front-passenger and rear seat belts have the ALR/ELR function.

Front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters
Benefits: Safety/Security, Comfort/Convenience

Pretensioners and load limiters work with the other components of the restraint system to help protect occupants in certain frontal impacts.

In certain frontal impacts, pretensioners help tighten the front seat belts. The same sensor system that signals the front air bags to deploy also sends a signal to the pretensioners, causing a limited amount of seat belt webbing to retract.

Load limiters help minimize the peak force that an occupant will experience when restrained by the seat belt in a severe frontal collision. The load limiter helps manage the crash energy by allowing a slight extension of the seat belt when the forces of the restraint system reach a predetermined force level.

The end result is a more controlled amount of force being exerted on the occupant's body.

The key benefit is that front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters can help reduce the risk of injury to front-seat occupants in certain frontal collisions.

Nissan Advanced Air Bag System*
Benefits: Safety/Security

Driver and front-passenger air bags inflate when air bag sensors detect that a significant frontal impact is occurring, helping reduce the driver's and front-passenger's risk of serious injury during certain frontal collisions.

* Air bags are only a supplemental restraint system; always wear your seat belt. Even with the occupant-classification sensor, do not use rear-facing child restraints in the front-passenger's seat. Also, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Air bags will only inflate in certain accidents. See your owner's manual for more details.

S S
Dual-stage inflation
Dual-stage air bags are deployed based on signals gathered from various sensors located on the vehicle. Both 1st- and 2nd-stage inflators will always be used when the air bag is deployed. However, the timing of the second inflator activation will vary based on the severity of the impact, helping reduce the risk of injury.

Seat belt sensors
Sensors in each front seat belt detect whether the seat belt is in use. Seat belt use, other air bag system sensors, and the severity of the impact are used to determine air bag deployment conditions.

Occupant Classification System (OCS)
The Occupant Classification System determines whether there is an occupant or a child safety seat in the front-passenger seat. Sensors monitor the weight of the front-seat passenger, whether the seat belt is buckled, and the tension on the seat belt — such as if a child safety seat is in place.

Driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags*
Benefits: Safety/Security

Air bags mounted on the outboard sides of the front seatbacks deploy when air bag sensors detect that a significant side impact is occurring, helping reduce the driver's or front-passenger's risk of injury during certain side-impact collisions.

Side air bags are designed to inflate in higher severity side collisions and inflate on the side of the vehicle impacted. Please see your owner’s manual for more details.

Benefits: Safety/Security

S S
LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren)
LATCH System allows easy and secure attachment of compatible child restraint seats without the need for ALR seat belts or locking clips.

Lower anchor points are located in the rear outboard seating positions where the seatback and seat cushion meet.

Child restraint seat tether anchors
Permanent anchors provide secure attachment points for installing a child restraint system that requires a tether anchor.

Child safety rear door locks
Levers on the edge of the rear doors allow rear door locks to be set so the doors can be opened only from outside the vehicle, to prevent children from accidentally opening the doors from the inside.

Energy-absorbing steering column
Benefits: Safety/Security

Column design helps absorb crash energy by compressing during certain frontal impacts, which helps reduce the risk of injury.
S S
High-strength steel side-door guard beams
Benefits: Safety/Security

Guard beams help protect occupants in the event of certain side impacts.
S S
Pipe-style

Zone Body Construction
Benefits: Safety/Security

Zone Body Construction incorporates front and rear crushable zones and a reinforced occupant zone to help protect occupants in the event of a crash.
S S
Hood deformation point
Creases in the reinforcement structure allow the hood to buckle at a predetermined point, helping protect the passenger compartment.

Slide-away brake pedal assembly
In certain frontal impacts, the brake pedal is designed to slide away from the driver to help reduce lower leg injuries.

Traction Control System (TCS)
Benefits: Safety/Security, Performance

To help enhance drive-wheel traction when accelerating, the Traction Control System senses wheel spin and automatically reduces power to help limit wheel slip. It operates at all speeds.
S S
Vehicle Dynamic Control* (VDC)
Benefits: Safety/Security, Performance

Vehicle Dynamic Control helps the driver keep the vehicle on its steered path in certain handling situations.

VDC uses various sensors to monitor driver inputs and vehicle motion. Under certain driving situations, VDC automatically adjusts power and/or applies the brakes individually as necessary to help the driver maintain control of the vehicle.

VDC incorporates Traction Control System (TCS).

* VDC, which should remain on when driving except when freeing the vehicle from mud or snow, cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt steering, carelessness, or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.

S S
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Benefits: Safety/Security, Comfort/Convenience, Economy

A warning light alerts the driver if low pressure is detected in any tire. Monitoring tire pressure helps prevent uneven tire wear and reduces the risk of tire damage.
S S
Easy Fill Tire Alert
The hazard lights flash at the start of tire inflation. When the correct pressure is reached, the horn sounds.

Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP)
Benefits: Comfort/Convenience

Sounds delivered through a speaker in the motor compartment help provide audible cues to pedestrians that the vehicle is moving.

A sound indicates that the vehicle is moving forward. The pitch changes based on vehicle speed and whether the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating.

The system switches off when vehicle speed exceeds 19 mph and re-engages when speed drops below 16 mph.

Intermittent sounds indicate the vehicle is backing up.
S S
Emergency shut-off system
Benefits: Safety/Security

If an impact occurs and the air bags deploy, the high-voltage system is shut off.
S S
Audio Systems SV SL
AM/FM/CD
Benefits: Comfort/Convenience

Audio system and speakers are located and tuned to provide rich, high-quality sound.
S S
CD-MP3/WMA playback
Audio system accommodates CDs containing MP3 or WMA files.

I tried it and it does work

sbgarcia,

Welcome to the forum. All these are covered in various threads already. Take a look at the threads, esp. the stickies, also look athe sticky regarding posting new threads.

I didn't bother going through sbgarcia's post - the formatting was too weird, and it didn't look like there really was any new information.

I find this particular feature to be suspect. For example, this is taken from the Leaf Owner's manual talking about TPMS
The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure.
If there was this "Easy Fill", you wouldn't need to go above 16mph for the system to check the pressure, and it would mention it here instead of telling you to use a tire pressure gauge. There is also no mention of "Easy Fill" anywhere in the Owner's Manual.

That is for the light to reset. Nissan is starting this in alot of their new vehicles, the Quest is the second vehicle to have this feature. I know the LEAF has it because I did it when I went through the training on the vehicle. I will go back and try and make it look a little better.

Some of these specs seem to be new or more complete.

The Easy Fill has not been posted before, I think, although perhaps all there specs are in a linked documenr. However, we can now "Search" them.

"sbg..." posts above that he tried the Easy Fill, and it works.

Obviously I am just a bystander in all of this at the moment, but I find this this a little surprising. This Easy Fill feature is not mentioned on the website, on the electronic brochure, or in the owner's manual. If it has it, it has it - but Nissan sure is keeping it a secret so far. And if people's cars start honking at them when they are filling the tires, that's going to surprise most (all?) of them.

Yes, and sbgarcia is also a dealer on an account created today. Sorry, I know that sounds terrible but it put's my skepticism meter up a little high. I'm not saying it's not true, and I'm COMPLETELY ready to be told I am wrong, but I don't think I'm crazy for at least raising an eyebrow about this :)

Did you see this sticky right at the top ? I'm sure you will agree that this much better formatted and also has lot more informtaion.

http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1022

All official Nissan documentation is in the "reference docs" thread.

I suggest you change the title of this thread.

This list (dated today) contains interior dimensions and lots of things not in the first post of the Sticky Thread. With 177 following posts, I did not attempt to find a similar listing.

Of course, it could all be made up, but who would bother?
Chances are, this is a new document release (at least to dealers).

Where was this long, detailed list "cut-and-pasted" from, please?

Can you give us a link to the original document so that we can see it in its original formatting?
Thanks!

I am sorry for causing so much trouble.... Would you like me to just delete this topic????

This document is new and I did copy and paste it because I cannot link it. This information is from Nissan's internal site and you have to have a username and password to get to it.... If you don't believe me go to www.nnanet.com I am just here trying to help and I don't see why everyone is gettting so angry with me??

No one's angry, just a bit confused. :) Thanks for posting new information and if you can make that first post a bit more readable it will be useful...

I liked having the new info here, sorry you removed it.

I was hoping that you would just ADD a link so others could see the source.

But, thanks for the link.

I was going to put it back up but in a .jpg but my work has photobucket blocked.

No, jpg is not the best, because it cannot be searched.

However, it was primarily the meaning of the "S" or "S S" that was unclear, but I see, from the original, what those mean now.

Thanks for trying to help.

Some here are a bit too quick to "jump on" new members.
