There is a 3rd party battery refurbisher, who offers a double battery option. For $6500 you get a second 24 kWh battery (refurbished) stacked on top of the 1st battery. So you lose a little trunk space, but you get double the range. You get 48 kWh, which should be close to 180 miles, if driven lightly?
They're called Hybrid Industries, I believe. California - based.

Ok. Can you point us to any customers who have successfully gotten such an upgrade? Any actual photos and/or videos of the completed work (e.g. dash displays when fully charged, Leaf Spy screens), range test results, the behavior when charging (including charging power graph), discharging, what to do in the event of a problem, safety procedures?
We already had a thread on that sketchy company at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=460259. I easily discovered via https://www.tineye.com/ and https://images.google.com/ that many of the pictures there were lifted from other random sites:

The above darn "company" rears its head on various Leaf Facebook groups every few months, it seems. Someone stumbles across them. When asked the same questions and pointed to the same lifted pictures, the conversation usually dies. And, of course, nobody in any of threads where it surfaces can point to a single success story w/this supposed upgrade.
I will be MUCH less skeptical once we see at least a few examples of what I'd asked for.
