From what I can tell, I guess that edatoakrun's been banned, which I don't agree with despite me not agreeing with and ignoring his posts on certain subjects.

Yeah; stupid decision based on his lack of popularity. Many have done much worse than him and still exist here.

Yes, CNBC is doing their normal FUD articles in full force to troll the stock down. Every time Tesla goes up they slam them harder. I have never seen so much flat out BS. Of course some short sellers are still pushing that Tesla is a scam. I never knew there were so many delusional people in the US but then again the recent politics are shaking the nuts from the trees.

US sales are down 39%. Can someone come up with a reason why would overseas dynamics be different a year from now once the initial demand is fulfilled?

It emerged due to the suspicion that the company used software updates to hide hazards.

The NHTSA has a 120-day deadline to respond to defect petitions. The agency is said to fail to comply with this deadline most of the time, but it has taken exactly 38 days to address this one.

The attorney Edward C. Chen sent his request to NHTSA on September 17, and the answer came last October 24. NHTSA decided to investigate the battery safety of the Model S and the Model X, affected by 2019.16.1 and 2019.16.2 software updates. Tesla is accused of using them to mask safety hazards, such as spontaneous fires.

That is what Chen and his client, David Rasmussen, decided to ask the agency to investigate. Rasmussen was one of the owners that reported a 12 percent loss of range after the updates back in May. He told us he tried to get explanations from Tesla in a friendly way for months. As he did not get any satisfactory one, he sued the company on August 7. . .

NHTSA demanded extensive documentation from Tesla in nine topics that show how deep the agency wants to dive into the issue. . . .

Tesla Model X in Norway is now selling at half the rate of 2018. Is this because the market provides more choices in 2019?. . . .

Tesla Model X has been pioneering the segment since 2016 and already almost 13,000 were sold. However, since the Jaguar I-PACE and Audi e-tron joined the market, there is a noticeable decrease in sales:

Data for 2019 indicate that Tesla Model X finds less customers than the I-PACE and e-tron:

Tesla Model X - 1,781 YTD (compared to 4,981 in full 2018)
Jaguar I-PACE - 2,820 YTD (compared to 1,081 in 2018)
Audi e-tron - 4,577 YTD (new)
Total - 9,178 YTD (compared to 6,062 in full 2018)

It's especially interesting because the overall sales expanded in 2019. There is no shortage of customers, which suggests that the preferences have changed. . . .

Unless you have the source code and the time to review it, how can you meaningfully approve or disapprove it?
 
I agree for approval (and I would add the requirement of having the expertise to understand the changes) but if it were me, I'd like to have the option of 'my car works fine the way it is, just leave it alone please'.

The same way I do for my computing devices. I don't review the source code, I just wait for it to be in the field for awhile and see if there are any bugs or consequences I'd rather not deal with.

Apparently they've got Tesla panels installed at 240 stores, and have had fires related to them at 7. The article contends Walmart may well cancel their order for Tesla Semis as well.

Well, if I'm not mistaken they are not Tesla panels. Solar City was installing panels from multiple vendors before Tesla bought them and started manufacturing their own panels. But the article I read showed some very bad solar maintenance, like leaving junction boxes open to the weather and wires not routed properly. It does seem that Solar City was growing too fast, and they did not have a well trained staff maintaining these panels, and Tesla is responsible for fixing this after they purchased Solar City. It is not good news, but it is also something that they can fix with their other customers even if they can't find a way to fix their relationship with WalMart. I'm betting that they come to an agreement with WalMart for both the solar and the future vehicle sales.

Well, Q3 2019 results are out.

Per page 6 of https://ir.tesla.com/static-files/47313d21-3cac-4f69-9497-d161bce15da4, in that quarter, they produced 16,318 Model S/X + 79,837 Model 3's for 96,155 vehicles in a quarter. That's about 7,396/per week. So, assuming 52 weeks in a year, that's only about 384.6K/year.

We are nearing the 2 year mark of your "6-12 months" prediction. I guess we'll see again in a few months when we hear Q4 2019 results.
 
cwerdna, webb14leafs was last active here in June, so while I understand your desire to point out that his (and Tesla's) production forecasts have been missed yet again, you're essentially posting to a ghost.
