I hope you realize that the coolant pump(s) can operate at more than 1 speed. I don't know if it's completely variable, but you can hear it spinning down from a higher RPM when you brake pretty firm from, say, 120KM/H (80MPH) to a stop. At least on my 2012.
It seems the coolant pump's RPM varies with the tractionmotor RPM. (which itself is pretty strange behaviour)
You can also hear the pump spinning at a higher RPM when you turn off the A/C and after some time the fan(s) stop spinning, the pump is still spinning at a higher RPM. (I often had those sounds(fans/pumps) mixed up, until I looked and listenend in the engine compartment.)
It is always at the lowest RPM when A/C is off and car is not moving.
Could it be that your pump is always running at it's maximum RPM?
