Maybe I just need to buy a couple of these (one for me and one for my wife) only $30 per car!
(these i think are used just to get you out if you are stuck, they are not made to drive 50mph on)

I use "Z" style cables when required by the California Highway Patrol to use chains on our mountain highways. Of course they take their toll on the LEAF's range, but it's not too dramatic a hit. Using chains or cables on the LEAF is really no different than on other cars.

We just had a set of Kumho KR-21 tires installed. They're all season tires but tend to work very well on snow and ice.
