I can't blame the dealership. The Leaf salesperson had a death in the family and was out of town until this morning. Considering the low number of allocations (only 2 at this dealership) this month I'm glad I didn't switch dealerships yesterday when I had the option.

Okay, I'm confused. First of all, No-one could RAQ before Gudy on 31 August 2010. And if you mean August 2011, well the 18th is yet to come so I'll assume you're talking about some time in the middle and you're lucky enough to be getting the 2011 price for the LEAF (given how low your quite is, I'd say that at least is obvious). Might you mean April vs. August? Since you took delivery in July, working backwards 4-7 months puts you somewhere between December, 2011 and March, 2011 RAQ, though April with a 3-month turn-around wouldn't be unreasonable and would be quite cool. Not trying to be a wise guy or anything, just genuinely curious.

Looks like IL will be the largest market in the Tier 2 ?

Not sure how many early adopters we have but after all IL is the 5th largest state so should potentially be a bigger market than say TN at the 17th largest. Of course IL won't have a Nissan LEAF plant in its backyard like TN (still irks me that we have a Ford plant but still no Focus EV available) but that's another story -- Nissan LEAF road show visits Chicago this coming weekend as well and we noticed that the wife who didn't reserve a LEAF got the 'welcome to place a reservation' offer this past Friday from Nissan.


UPDATE: recent news story stated that there were 750 people from IL that had put a deposit down
