Why do stylists who design show cars love squashed roofs so very much? They should be forced to drive such a car every day.

They don't care about practicality in a concept car. They care about a car that turns eyeballs. 
Main purpose is marketing, something that will get a buzz going.

Your a car guy, most aren't. For most people that concept look is unusual.
