Nissan connect in Canada for USA car

Hi guys.
I am in Canada but have USA leaf.

Hence having troubles setting up NIssan Connect. Called support line - they said that for USA car I need USA app that I can't download in Canada.

Any work arounds? And will this app do anything good without subscription?

I am new to this too. Just downloaded a few days ago. They have remote lock, unlock, remote climate control, start charge(however, can't stop charge, very wired) ,check SOC status. that's all what I found. Other feature need subscription.

I'd try using a VPN and download using wifi.

The app is very handy, even without a sub.
