I just got a "congratulations" call from Nissan CS for taking delivery of my Leaf. Funny thing is I don't have it!
The dealer say's 13th or after and mine is not on the truck with the other 11 on the way to my dealer now. Since I have paid in full the invoice must have processed to trigger CS to call me. Having purchased an orphan, I don't have the excitement of a dashboard and all the milestones. I only get a small taste of the Leaf anticipation experience. :)

Oh my dear Johnny.. you have no idea.
I think you meant "millstones", which are used much like albatross carcass.

And if you got a full drag of the "Leaf anticipation experience", you'd be joining me in the padded detox room. The only cure is miles.

If given the opportunity, I'll reserve another one for the full drag! :D

Groundloop, I don't know if you saw my comment on your post in the "Official I got my leaf thread," but I'm happy to see that you "still have it" after receiving your leaf. ;)

Picked up 0703. The salesmen's second Leaf in Clovis, CA. Went smooth, I knew more about the car than he did, but I've been studying the manuals and reading this forum. They tried selling the extended warranty, but since the 14 year old Honda this is replacing only has 93,000 miles, it'll be gently used in flat Fresno.

If anyones still reading this and has something to say about heat, let me hear about it. We get to 110 and over 100 for a few weeks. Have to park in the sun during the work day, may put a car cover on it. Any other ideas? Worried about the overheating warning, does it kill batteries or just reduce range?

Was having lunch w/my dad and we were talking about the car. Ring on the telephone, car is in, when do you want to pick it up? Well today of course. Just got home after getting car from Northbay Nissan. Leaf specialist "Tony" helped me and was very easy to deal with. All went smooth and now it is in the garage charging up. I grew 2 trees on the way home...how fun.

Also they had a bunch of LEAFS in the back waiting for their owners.

I got the call. My car is in and being prep'd for pick up. Just need to figure out a mutually agreeable time.

That's some good news.
Awesome news! Congratulations!

Thanks
Not going to be much this weekend because I have to work and my commute is only 9 miles roundtrip.

I did about 65 miles in all between the test drive and a few side trips on the way home. Left NB Nissan w/92 mi. ended up in the garage w/32 miles remaining.

Your post is very encouraging for me. I am planning a drive from NB Nissan to home near the San Jose airport and I'm all worried that I will need to fill up on the way back since the drive is 86 miles long.

Did you drive in Eco mode and what speed were you driving at on the freeway?

It'll be close, but there are plenty of charging stations along the way on the peninsula. I bet you could call Brendan at Boardwalk Nissan and let him know you'd like to stop by for a charge--chances are you won't be taking it back to NB for service.

Got a call Friday at 2:30 from William at mossy km - leaf is in. Scheduled to pick it up 7pm last night. Only hiccup in the process was a tech had locked our car in the service bay connected to the charger and gone home! While working on the paperwork the tech came back in from home with the keys and our car was released! This didn't cause us any delay at all as it all went on while we did paperwork. We were there just over 2hours and all went smoothly. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Saw lots of other leafs there awaiting their owners.

Glad to finally have it after all of this! :p

Hi All,

Took delivery of my LEAF at Nissan Sunnyvale on Friday 5/6 (VIN 2134).

The guys I dealt with at Nissan Sunnyvale were great, Dennis Coburn and the close-the-deal guy (can't remember his name, sorry). I highly recommend Nissan Sunnyvale. They won't go under MSRP, but if you live in the South Bay area, personally I recommend staying local for your dealer and go with them. Their service dept. is also highly recommended.

And, I just took my LEAF on its first "real-world" drive, from San Jose, CA, to Aptos, CA, over Hwy 17 and down Hwy 1. A total of about 36 miles. Started out at 100% charge, stayed in Drive mode until I hit the summit on 17, then switched to Eco for the downhill into Santa Cruz and stayed in Eco until Aptos. Turned on the Air (fan only) on Hwy 1.

Arrived in Aptos with 1/2 SOC remaining. Pretty good!

I even had my girlfriend and a bunch of luggage on board (including a 50 lb bag of rocks).

Steve

I got a call from the dealer this morning to schedule pick up on Tuesday 10th. I'll be installing a circuit for the EVSE expected the same day this afternoon. TED due on Tuesday as well. This awesome forum guided (and entertained) me all the way to confidently purchase this car. Many thanks to all the contributors :!: :!: :D :D
