Got "the call" tonight and will be picking up the car tomorrow afternoon. My date went from the week of the 11th (after many other moves of course) to the week of the 30th and finally back to the week of the 25th yesterday. And here it is!

Coincidentally, saw two Leafs (Leaves?) today - one eastbound on Woodside Road in Redwood City (black - gudy?) and a blue one near Page Mill and 280...

Congatulations! I've been driving the East Bay and up to SF on the Peninsula and have yet to see one. I did see one Chevy Volt, though the owner was oblivious to my hand signals.

If you're free on April 2nd, come to our Bay Area LEAF Enthusiasts meeting--see the thread for details.

I dunno, the "wiring protect and polish" package is sounding pretty appealing!

Beware - I took my expected costs and presto, the final cost was about $600 more than expected. In the financing "chamber" I found out that $160 for VTR was added. He explained the VTR is added to all vehicles that come into this dealer, even one that he might buy. He said the vin # is on all the major parts, etc and put into a data base for my protection. After a few moments of insistance, he agreed to take it off but said I would not have the protection it offers. He tried to convince me that these vehicles are going to be targets for thieves to sell the parts. Yikes! Not for me.

Also, in Arizona our registration and license fee for a vehicle like this will usually cost $590 a year, since it is based on the value of the vehicle. Arizona has made ev's cost only about $40. Our dealer said I would have to pay the $590 as there was no way for them to get the DOT to only estimate the EV rate. I am suppose to get a reimbursement check for the difference. We had another lively discussion about this too. I have their agreement about the reimbursement check in writing. I noticed they are very careful not to have the LEAF specialist who I have always dealt with, in the room with the finance guy. A bit of good cop - bad cop routine.

Good luck. You will love the LEAF. I've had mine only one day and am very pleased.

Yahoo, mine's here too, six days after I received the "7 days" email and one day earlier than my dashboard originally (and ever) said. Picking it up tomorrow.

Is there anything I should bring to the dealer besides my checkbook, carwings login, and grin?

Awesome. Interesting as both of our dates were showing the same trend so I did not hear yet from BW Nissan about my Leaf having arrived yet. May be I should give them a call

So, we are wondering whether there is a pattern and how many times we are supposed to see the dates change. Do you remember your sequence?

Other people who have already taken delivery, do you remember your sequence?

Thanks and enjoy your LEAFs!!!

idunk, I kept track of every change on my dashboard. Here is what happened:

2/20 – March 18
2/21 – March 24
2/23 - March 25
2/26 - March 22
2/27 - March 18
3/1 - March 22
3/2 - March 28
3/3 - March 30
3/4 - March 22
3/10 - March 28
3/11 9:16 am - Your Nissan LEAF™ is scheduled to arrive at your local dealer within the next 7 days.
3/20 – March 30
3/21 – March 23
3/22 – Delivery of LEAF

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Azrich. No pattern that I can discern, even on the number of changes. It might even have been fun if we all hadn't been waiting for almost a year!

I would. Brendan has been extremely responsive to voice messages. I think the on-time delivery surprised him.

Just got back from Boardwalk with mine - very nice experience with no hard sell on add-ons, plus it was both thorough and pretty quick. Somebody else's white car is waiting in front...

Oh, I hope it is mine! I received the "7 day" email yesterday, and I am waiting on a white one from Boardwalk.

Jay, congratulations. Was March 11 the last date on your dashboard ? Or did it change to a later date?

Thanks! I had March 11 for quite a while, then switched to March 30, and finally back to the 25th. Brendan told me today that a "port hold" was put on my car, but he couldn't ferret out any more details. I'm guessing that one of the port added accessories was delayed - I got the protection package and splash guards. Both of which look pretty nice btw...

I'll go check on door post stickers now.

Interesting indeed. I got the "Eco Package" and the "Floor mats" so hopefully mine is here anytime and not held at port. The Pouring rain here must have made picking up the car really difficult.

Does BW Nissan give you all paper work you need to file for the CA Rebate? Did you lease or buy? Nice to know that no extra add -ons were done. So straight forward? can you provide a break up of other charges?

I wonder accessories have something to do with mine also. Originally I had ordered eco-package, but it was successfully removed from the order few months ago. Maybe the car still showed up at the port with it installed, and now they are trying to fix the problem, just a guess. As my car should have been here by now :(

They gave me instructions on how to file for the rebate - all you really need other than that is the sales contract and registration (temporary ok). I bought mine which of course made it even more straightforward. Charges were pretty standard - $55 doc fee, $465 DMV fees, and sales tax. That's it!

Hello csriram45,

I took my laptop with me. I had already reviewed the instructions for CVRP on CCSE website and had downloaded the PDFf or those. While my papers were being prepared, I completed my CVRP application sitting there. In a couple of minutes, my application was accepted and I got the confirmation email within 5-7 minutes. After the sale papers were signed, I asked the LEAF sales rep to make couple sets of copies for those for me. Also, before he pasted the temporary registration on the front, I got the copies of that made too. That way I had all the required papaers with me. I had already procured by utility bill copies before hand. Next day, I sent all the documents via USPS certified mail. I called CCSE rep in 4 days to confirm that they had received all the papers. Kyle at CCSE was very kind and told me that not only he had received all the documents but the rebate was approved as well!!!!!!!!

Just got the call from Elk Grove Nissan! She's HERE! We pick her up tomorrow at 5pm. :D

We never got a 7-day email. However, our dashboard has held steady at "Week of 3/31/2011" since Monday, March 14th. For those wanting to know, our Carwings opened on 3/4, and our delivery week toggled around like everyone else's did for the first 10 days after that but was always between 3/25 and 4/1.

We are so excited, we can hardly stand it! We'll keep our fingers/toes/legs/eyes crossed for the rest of you to get the call soon!

Thats a great idea. Of course all depends on what day I pick up the car etc. I could not find where PDF version of the forms was. I got the PDF for instruction but not of the form that they say needs to be mailed. I presume you fill it up online and at the end of the filling up u get an option to print it as well?

Thx

Hi, does anyone know if Boardwalk Nissan tagged on the $29 DMV electronic filing fee?

Just fill the form online and apply it. Then CCSE would send you the PDF of your filled application to the your email, which you would print, sign and send along with copies of utility bill, sales bill and temporary registration.
