Level 1 charger not charging

My L1 charger is functional - the flashing green light is on when I plug it on the wall; however when I place the plug in my 2015 Nissan Leaf, nothing happens, no lights, no charge. Before it showed the three lights flashing for a while and off. Now is off, dead.

Is this a problem with my charger or with Leaf? If so, is there anything I can do it myself to resolve it? I hate to take it to service.

The first thing to do is basic troubleshooting. In the case you need to figure out whether it's the EVSE (not charger, that's inside the car), or the car. The simplest way is to visit a public L2 station and try to charge. If that works, then it's probably your L1 unit. If you know someone else with an electric car, you can also try your L1 on their car. Once you know where the problem is, then you can resolve this.
