Eric, good find! Did it rain on your charge ports? :lol: Ideally, we need a padlock with a large U-clip to pass through both the charge port cover clip and the EVSE gun handle hole to close the area off entirely to intruders. I've read on the forum where vandals have smashed the port cover backward and broken it... :cry:
I wish it would rain. I haven't driven my LEAF in it yet, but very much want to. The water was from the car wash.

My heart is aching...

All these new posts and I don't have one... Cannot really justify getting rid of Corolla (destined for college car for daughter #1 in 2 years) or Prius (bought new 8/2011, after having given up on electrics coming to KC). Planning now to wait for 2013 model in Winter, as daughter #2 will start drving in Spring and 3rd vehicle makes sense then....

On a lark, in April I applied to MO DMV for vanity plate "PLUGZ IN" - and its now waiting for me. But no EV to mount it on.....

If you see a Prius with "PLUGZ IN" plates, its me ---- waiting for December.
I waited 10 months to get mine. It was a pain, but I'm glad I finally got mine.

Hey, Tom, you should have yours within a week of your due date (was both my and Eric's experience). Let us know what you hear from your dealer. They don't volunteer to let you know when your shipment arrives, so stay on top of them to get it as soon as it arrives and they prep it. Otherwise it will sit there until they get to you. Good luck and keep in touch!

BTW, I made my dealer take off their emblem (R for Randy Reed), which they'd slapped onto the rear hatch...no free ads go on my cars. :evil: I suggest everyone do that, too. Dealers think they can freeload on our cars. Love my LEAF; couldn't care less about where it delivered. ;) Besides, I have plans to put new "100% ELECTRIC" chrome letters in the middle beneath the hatch release, like others did in another thread. People just don't get that these cars use no gas, so it needs to be identified in a manner other than zero emission, IMHO. :)

http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=4713&p=196748&hilit=Chrome+letters#p196748" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

See red LEAF on pg 23 with lettering (he needs to remove the dealer above LEAF to unclutter the look); this is similar to what I'll do (I will put the new lettering on the same line as LEAF and zero emission).

cdherman, MO only alllows 6 letters/numbers on vanity plates, so you're misspelling yours? ;) See the link to my new vanity plate earlier in this thread (G'BYGAS). Let us know the real plate spelling when you get a chance and tell us where you're located (welcome to our KC-area thread). You're not alone, I know the waiting game pain ($99 reservation Aug. 2010, delivery June 4, 2012)...I've yet to see ericvoll in the wild and we both live north of the river, both work downtown and have both had our cars about 2 weeks, but we haven't crossed paths yet. ksnogas2112 (Tom) is over the state line and still awaiting delivery. Great to know there are more KC LEAF lovers! :)

We may need to start a KC LEAF car club, similar to other car clubs who meet regularly to share insights, swap stories, ogle each other's LEAFs and spread the EV word. Yes, it'll be a very small group to start... :roll:

"PLUGZ N"

I mistyped....

Kathy -

You probably didn't notice, but driving home today, I was the second car behind you on Antioch, near Antioch & Vivion. I drove past you when you got into the turn lane to turn into Cosentinos' grocery store.

Really???? :eek: Oh, dang, Eric, I sure did miss seeing you! I was on my very first phone call hands-free in the car (I know, I'm delayed :lol: ). I was hoping other people didn't think I was talking to myself. :roll: Close call and a miss, for sure! I'm usually very aware of everyone around me (never trust my blind spots), but I was multi-tasking and traffic was bogging down by the Sunfresh entrance. Too bad you didn't come into the Sunfresh parking lot so I could meet you and see your LEAF! :( If you spot me in the wild again, let me know. See you next time! :p

Guess who got his Leaf?? :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Hey guys...first KC Leafest (or Leaffest??) at Pierponts on Saturday July 7??? Will that work for you two and a guest? I'll make reservations for 6 people at earliest opportunity if that works out for us.

Tom, so glad you got your LEAF, conratulations! Sounds like it arrived earlier than anticipated? Bet you're having fun. :) I love the Cayenne Red.

The little trees just make me giggle (and feel accomplished, too!). I love all the funny little quirks, chirps (and burps?) that others think are so lame on this car in other threads. I vow not to change the horn, to always listen to the joyful beeping in R, to enjoy the VSP whir (assume Jetson mode!), to press OK (like that's a big deal :?: ) and to always love the virtual trees. I bought a stuffed white polar bear at a Crown Center toy store Friday and put it in my back window on the cargo cover. :lol: (yes, I'm a cliche :roll: ).

KC LEAF Fest - lunch at Pierpont's, Saturday, 7-7-12. One (1) reservation for me (SO is probably working). I supppose we'll meet at the plug around noon?

Senior Citizen Hour? I'll be home in time for bed at 8:30! :lol: That works fine for me (or 6, 6:30, 7...whenever). We'll have plenty of daylight in which to check out each other's LEAFs at the plug.

Congrats on your new LEAF!!

Saturday, July 7 at 5 p.m. works for me. No guests here.

FYI, Pierpont's Lounge has Happy Hour from 4-6PM (serves food in the Lounge) should anyone want to meet earlier (4PM), instead of dinner @ 5PM (plenty for me). See their Lounge Menu: http://pierponts.com/Pierponts%20Lounge.pdf;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Otherwise,
Dinner Menu: http://pierponts.com/Pierponts%20Dinner.pdf;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Small Plates Menu: http://pierponts.com/Pierponts%20Small%20Plates.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (small plates 3 & 4 course dining also plenty and good!);

Getting hungry? :)

Nope, just bringing me. :) Lounge works for me. Eric is coming solo per his post:

Eric, let us know if Lounge at 4PM works for you.
Tom, feel free to bring your SO/wife (she's an owner, too!). It'll be the first step in growing our LEAF group. :D
