So it looks like we get the first peek at the Fisker Nina on its way to the New York Auto Show.

Is it just me or does it look an awful lot like a shrunken Karma? Not really a bad thing visually but could this mean the Karma's terrible mileage as well???

They are using a bmw engine for this one, so say the rumors, unlike the Karma that has the gm engine. Hopefully it well be better as it weighs less. Hopefully they are just fooling and it turns out ot be a fully BEV and not a BEV with a engine range extender (BEVer)

Why do license plate numbers always get fuzzed over in pictures? What can someone do with a plate number? Not like I can't walk through a parking lot and write down as many license plate numbers as I want.

True, but you don't get owner's names with that method.

OK so let's say I put the name Joe Schmoe with CA plate number 6XYZ 123... what can I do with that info?

Some enthusiasts on the Tesla forums think that this might not be the Nina, based on their attempts to decode what is under the blue tape: Story at Autoblog Green:

That's funny. Not sure how the proportion or size of random blue tape has a direct relationship to underlying letters of unknown font, size and spacing but I get it, they are excited. Reminds me of a time when we were putting on swim fins to sneak aboard Nissan cargo ships...

In an unusual Sunday posting, ABG has the uncovered spy shots from a Czech site, and the concept is called "Atlantic":

http://green.autoblog.com/2012/04/01/project-nina-revealed-as-fisker-atlantic-images-leak-early/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pretty nice looking IMHO, though a bit overstyled for my taste. The grille from the Karma is apparently going to be a corporate standard, and I'm not fond of it.

Anyone else find the proportions odd in this side view? The hood looks too long and the cabin too short, and the hood line rises toward the front. Maybe this is an unfortunate angle. Also, the details are too busy for me by a large factor. The Karma is quite a bit sleeker and more balanced looking, IMHO.

The Atlantic looks a lot better in these pictures:

Pretty stunning looking.

Has anyone put in a preorder for the Atlantic? I'm thinking it will probably be out by my 50th birthday...so I have an excuse for my mid-life crises car :cool: . Would be nice to see some details first, but if it does come out at a price point close to the Volt, it would be a no brainer which one I would rather have (if range is at least 35 in electric mode so I can still say goodbye to gas on my commute).
