KOLD - Tucson's CBS station - ran a story last night that firemen and rescue workers are beginning to be trained on what to do when an electric car is in an accident. They don't want to use their electric saws to cut through the electric cable or into the battery compartment.

The training should consist of the following:
1)you don't have to worry about gas burning/exploding any more.
2)Don't cut any orange cables or through the middle of the floorboard.
3)Let's go out for a beer!

Are batteries safer than, oh, gunpowder charges in quick-tensioning seat belts?!
