Does turning down dash brightness improve battery?

the power consumed by the back lighting system is so insurmountably trivial compared to any number of loads in the car it doesn't even need to be factored into the equation.

Since the traction battery charges the standard car battery - it still affects range by a few millimeters -- unless it is an SL and the solar panel picks up charge from all the street lights to get those precious millimeters back.
