I think the cnet crowd likes the Leaf but carefully put the volt close in points.

First thing that popped out for me was the "same number of seats" comment. Of course we all know that the Leaf seats 5, where the Volt only seats 4. :roll:

I'd have to call it a draw. They were very close on everything except price, and CNET cheated on price. Of course no one knows what the price of the Volt is yet, but they quoted the often heard value of "under thirty thousand after tax credit". Then they turned around and called it $38,000! They also quoted the $32,800 number for the Leaf, but I'm coming to think of that as a teaser number, since it looks like the SV is going to be in very limited supply and will not include DC charging. So the real number should be $33,700. The Volt is still likely to cost more, but maybe only about 10% more. I'd rate that as one point, not the two they unfairly gave it.

technically, the Volt is an "EREV" as they are calling them these days. I'm stil not buying a Volt, not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent, already have a hybrid that works just fine thankyou.

You mean Volt is an EREV as GM would like us all to call it - technically it is a series PHEV (just like Renault ElecRoad of 2005).

Just THINK about how UGLY the Volt is going to look once we put a set of Leaf teeth and whiskers on it. Yuk! :lol:
