climate control blower output

The climate control on my 2019 Leaf S seems to have a mind of its own. I typically set the "mode" to blow air through the dash vents, and when the outside temp gets cold enough, the mode will switch to floor vents (or to mixed floor and dash). This happens regardless of whether the "auto" light is lit; I generally run fresh air through the cabin, not the A/C. I want the mode to stay where I set it, until I explicitly select another mode.

Is this just something I have to live with? I guess I have lived with it for 4 years, and I'm finally getting around to asking the forum.
