The reply said that they cover the upgraded unit for as long as the manufacturer's warranty lasts. How long is that? What about units sent in that are already off warranty? Good questions!

Our warranty on new units is 2 years, for upgrades, we cover up them for 2 years or until the original Nissan warranty expires. (Whichever is longest) Note that (obviously) we do not cover damage due to abuse, such as damage to the handle, as we have nothing to do with that part.

We have never denied coverage to anyone, and have even assisted customers with unusual circumstances, such as dogs chewing up cables. =)

These units are made by Panasonic's Kitchen Appliance division, and are so tough trouble is extremely rare.

The ABSOLUTE cheapest Charging Station is the OpenEVSE DIY starter kit for $39...

It contains all the hard to find parts and includes the microprocessor with firmware pre-loaded.

The required components to complete are all common and available from Digi-key.

When finished it is compariable to a top of the line OpenEVSE or Juicebox Premium and can be completed for about $100 before AC/J1772 Cables.

this is the cheapest..and works well for the past 100 charges now..
