Hi, I apologize if this has been already asked. (I searched the forum already and could not find an answer.) How much would a 30 KiloWatt hour battery be to replace in a 2016 Nissan Leaf SV? I have read the 24 KiloWatt hour batteries are around $6,250 in cost to replace presently in January 2017.

Are you trying to replace a pre 16 (24kwh) with a 30kwh ?

or is this a wrecked 16?

I am not trying to replace a 30 KiloWatt Hour lithium ion battery presently. I just wanted to know the approximate future replacement cost of a degraded battery. I know the old Nissan Leaf 24 KiloWatt Hour batteries cannot be upgraded unless you go with a third party battery installation.

I am curious on the replacement cost as I may possibly go with a 2016 Nissan Leaf SV with a 30 KiloWatt Hour battery in the future. I know buying an electric car is like buying a gasoline car and paying for several years of fuel up front.

And, what third party has successfully put a 30 kWh Leaf battery in a pre-'16 Leaf?

I apologize but I am not interested in derailing from the original subject yet. I have no intentions of going with third party batteries in a Nissan electric car. I am curious if anyone knows what a 30 KiloWatt Hour battery replacement cost is in a Nissan Leaf?

I can not find a listing on the Nissan parts website, so unless there is someone that pipes up that has had to pay to have one replaced... It may take a phone call to a dealer, or corporate.

Given Nissan's previous stall tactics, I doubt we'll see a price until someone needs to pay to have it replaced for degradation or failure (passes 8 year/100K mile capacity and defects warranty) or an unlikely accident that severely damages the battery but not the rest of the car sufficiently to total it.

For the 24 kWh packs, we were originally promised a price in Spring (IIRC) of 2013 and didn't get one. We instead got http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=13331 on the very last day of that season. ThankyouOB kept err... asking Andy Palmer when he'd tell us the price. Hopefully http://www.mynissanleaf.com/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=andy&author=thankyouob works.

After going silent for a year, we finally got a price http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=17168.

In the Andy Palmer video from 2012 at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=10257, they claimed they at the time didn't envision the customer having to pay for the battery, hence no price at the time.

I couldn't find it via a quick search at https://parts.nissanusa.com/. I suspect a call or visit to a Nissan parts counter will turn up no price.
