Rationale for which cars receive Lower Apron Bracket Fix

Hi Doug I did get the note both about the software update and the apron as well. I am surprised that you did not get the apron. You may want to call the dealer from where you bought the car. My dealer did the software update. I am not sure what was the major change there!! They did not...

Maryland Vehicle Excise Tax credit for Leaf - how is done?

Mark I am curious to know if you leased or bought the car. If you purchased it, did you find better interest rates than what Nissan was offereing? In my case (purchased), the interest was 2.99%. If it is less by credit union, I have no problem jumping ship from Captial One Auto (I...

Maryland Vehicle Excise Tax credit for Leaf - how is done?

Thanks Mark It is upsetting that Nissan should have ensured that their dealers were on the same page. I haved faxed a letter to the Finance Manager of Len Stoler. I am curious what he is going to say and how he is going to defend other dealers knocking off $2000 at purchase time when he...

Maryland Vehicle Excise Tax credit for Leaf - how is done?

I bought my Leaf on Dec. 17the from Len Stoler in Owings Mills. The finance manager was insistent that I had to pay sales tax and apply for the credit. Does any one know what I should do at this point? Should I have the dealer request the MVA for refund or do I have to file the paperwork...

Oops... just noticed the price you paid!! :) Wondering how much it would cost to installed Levitron if it has to be hardwired outside the house now.

GE Announces WattStation Electric Car Charger

Hi Doug Why did you prefer the GE WattStation over Levitron when GE is so expensive? I am considering Levitron because not only it is cheaper but the fact that I will be installing it outside the house (as I do not have a garage) so most probably it has to be hard wired. How much did you pay...

Choice oTWO L2 Chargers! Which one is better for the price?

Thank you for your reply. I was definitely looking at L2 (220v / 240v). There are two options. I will know about wiring issues on Friday when the electrician comes over. Since both of L2 EVSE are listed for outdoors, I did not think about shade... but I will consider it. Both of L2 EVSE...

Choice oTWO L2 Chargers! Which one is better for the price?

Hi Randy Yes, I am definitely eliminating the Levitron. I bought the Leaf and my plan is to keep the Leaf for at least 8 years or so.... So what happens by then, I am just so excited.... Thank you for letting me know what Leaf supports. I did not know that GE works at 6.6 kW and the Legrand...

Thank you so much for your quick reply. So the cheaper will do fine? If I get the 40 amps, the charging time would be the same as the 16 amps, I take it? Raza

Any tips for cold weather driving

Hi Lance.... You may have a better sound than I have.... Believe it or not, I was watching some Nissan Leaf reviews on Youtube and I heard one of the reviews by CNET (I think) that said that Nissan Leaf makes a whinning sound between 45 - 50 mph. They test drove the 2011 model. I have the...

Thank you for the suggestion. I will ask the dealer sometime in two weeks. I am not sure how well-trained the Leaf specialists are in the dealership near to us.

Any tips for cold weather driving

I doubt that Nissan dealership in my area are as knowledgeable as some of forum members :) They only have sold three cars only and have one demo car that has only 50 miles on it. Leaf has just picked up sales in Maryland.

Any tips for cold weather driving

Lucky You!!! I could not tolerate the very hot and extremely cold weather in Nebraska in 2000 and I left for Oregon but then returned back to Maryland where I lived in 80s and 90s. :) Raza

Any tips for cold weather driving

I am not sure. The noise is there and profound when the temps are around 35 F or lower. I doubt it is frozen brakes as it is there while I am driving over 35 mph. It definitely seems to go away as the temps are warmer. Two days ago, it was in 50 F and the noise was not there. Thanks for...
