    New Jersey White House Petition

Inform New Jersey that markets should be free for Tesla Motors and for everyone | We the People: Your Voice in Our Government I started this petition because I don't think what New Jersey is doing is right or fair. Please sign if you agree.

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

Hmm.. so no gas stations makes more sense? If I was running low, I would take 2 gallons over nothing.

You are much more patient than I am but I respect your opinion.

White House petition for more chargers

First sentence and you are already attacking some phantom person. No one attacked Ray. He was just being polite. Why are you so ready to fight with someone on this board? Why don't you use some of that energy and go after oil companies? It is very discouraging to anyone trying to help. Fair...

Europe parliament prepares draft for CHAdeMO phase-out 2018

The SAE combo supports four types of charging: AC Level 1 AC Level 2 DC Level 1 DC Level 2 Even if you were right and charging in the future was all DC, this plug would still work for that.

Depends on what your goal is. Rome wasn't built in a day.

White House petition for more chargers

Someone from Wyoming just signed it. That just leaves North Dakota and all 50 states will have signed.

White House petition for more chargers

I took a look. There have been signatures from people in 48 of 50 states. Does anyone know someone from one of these states that would sign it? North Dakota, ND Wyoming, WY That would mean there was support from people all of the country which would be pretty cool.

White House petition for more chargers

Surprised by a lot of the comments on here. A few thoughts: I think people should view this as a way to locally increase the range of their vehicle not as a means to drive on 1,000 mile journeys. Maybe 1 day out of a month, you want to see a relative in a nearby city. Wouldn’t it be nice to...

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

For anyone interested in the J1772 Combo standard, SAE has put together a webinar (I just took the course). http://training.sae.org/webrecordings/pd331046on/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can also download the J1772 standard (93 pages) here...

I learned quite a bit in the last two days on this forum so thank you to those that helped.

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

Some of you guys are to high strung. I didn't realize this was a hornets nest when I originally posted. I have read most of the same limited articles that you guys have about the different plugs. I know the different volt and amp ratings between the two. I know physically how they look and from...

I'm an engineer. I like specs and don't really care about the politics involved.

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

Can you guys point me to a good forum post or external link that discusses the technical advantages/disadvantages between the two plugs?

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

That is a pretty big assumption. Isn't BMW offering the i3 with DC charge and range extending engine?

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

I disagree. They all have to hit 54.5 MPG by 2025. That is hard to do without some sort of electrification.
  18. F

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

Of course they will. They have all said they support the SAE Combo plug. Basically what I have learned is that about half of the car companies will use CHAdeMO and half will use SAE Combo and no one is going to change anybody's mind on it. Blame it on whoever you want, it is still bad for EV's...

Exactly. That is how I should have started this thread.

Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

I agree. No one wants to offer multiple types but I also can't imagine only putting in CHAdeMO in the US at this point knowing that basically only Nissan (and maybe Tesla/Toyota Rav 4) will use it. That is a pretty limited market share. It is the majority of the market right now but I am...
