While the stations may get more use from locals, I think The Powers That Be also need to factor in how many people from Portland head east as well...I go over there a few times a year, and I'm sure a small percentage of other leaf owners do too. However, even more important is that non-Leaf...

If that includes the cost of the charging station, it's not terribly outrageous. If it's just the install and the station can be installed near the the breaker panel, then it is. You might see if you can still get in on the EV Project and get it for free...

I don't believe that is the case - while I had lots of problems initially with the thing not phoning home and the wireless eventually crapped out entirely, I've never had problems charging with it in the year and a half I've had it...

There are four: two at PSU, one at the World Trade Center and the one at Freddies. It is 85 miles from the WTC to the Brownsville exit, where the northernmost of the stations will be opening any day now so you'd want to stop in Woodburn or Salem and settle for an L2 booster shot until they...

Multiple DC Quick Charges did get a Hot Battery for this guy

In fact, the AV stations are going in with federal money - these first few from stimulus money, the rest from DOT money, though it might be stimulus related, which makes the $2.50 viable. A full tank fill up is going to be *very* rare. Even when I push the range to go to Portland in a single...

Multiple DC Quick Charges did get a Hot Battery for this guy

I believe it was a combination of legal limitations on what can be at rest stops (which would have been my first choice) plus there's nothing to do while charging at a rest stop (which is why I changed my mind). It's basically come down to who's willing to allow them in and where's the power...

Multiple DC Quick Charges did get a Hot Battery for this guy

A little off topic for this subforum, but since y'all've been talking about the post: I've updated the WCEH photo journal with links to the first four approaches to the charging stations, taken with a little $50 dashcam (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00567H67C/ref=oh_o05_s00_i00_details"...

Ahh, ok, that makes sense and sounds right. I do have a garmin track log, so there's probably something that could actually calculate the actuals, but probably more work than it's worth... Yes, exactly Thanks! Yes, they are: http://evsolutions.avinc.com/services/subscriber_network/"...

As the one whose posting apparently triggered this long discussion... ;-) let me see if I can answer some of the questions (sorry I didn't get in here sooner - I don't have time to keep up with the volume here, so haven't really been trying and just found out about this thread) * the trip...

I have the new 2.x firmware, and it's lost the most important feature: last charge kWh. All it gives you is a cost figure you can derive an approximate value from, but only approximate. Since it resets the stats, I can actually get the "first charge since upgrade" stats: $1.70 (@$0.12/kWh)...

    Nuisances

I didn't say that very well: what I want is side-view cameras up front, so the screen shows left-front, rear, right-front for exactly that reason: to avoid running into something with the nose while you're watching your rear...

Yup, I didn't hear much of anything from the dealer until he called to say "it's here, you can come pick it up tomorrow"
