    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

The passage of time seems to be a factor over which we have no control. One bar loss at around two years, regardless of usage pattern and operating environment, might be typical. If so, high miles/year drivers may experience a lower operating cost per mile than low mile/year drivers.

The Market will Respond to After-Market Battery Demand

My concern is liability. Who pays to replace the car and the house that burned when an after market battery is determined to be the cause of a fire?

    Poll : $100 a month replacement offer

I voted back to ICE. I own the LEAF free and clear and have 10 months to go until my CVRP commitment is satisfied. My best guess is I will replace the LEAF with an EREV or go back to a hybrid in 10 months. My best guess is that Nissan will not provide an option for me to replace the LEAF battery...

    Official Southern California Edison thread

Called SCE yesterday to switch from domestic TOU to EV TOU and they would not make the change. They require a site planner to inspect things first. So now a planner is supposed to call within the next 5 days to set an appt. I told them the planner will have to inspect without me during weekdays...

    Is Carwings glitchy for you?

I have not been able to communicate with the car using the owner's portal website, the Nissan iOS app, or LEAF Link iOS app since Dec 20 4:24pm. I just chatted EV support and my one week old ticket is still open. Just as other's glitchy behavior subsided, my communication success rate dropped to...

Cutting it close too often. Merry Xmas !

Hold title to the EV under both names and then split the EV credit ($3750 on each individual Federal return). The IRS respects California community property rules.

    2011 TAX TIME Questions

There may be a way for some couples to get both credits (EV and EVSE) if you live in a community property state (like CA). The IRS respects community property rules of the states. So, if the couple has a 50/50 community property arrangement and splits the EV credit where each taxpayer claims...

    17A L1 charging!!

A few years ago I was getting fluctuating voltage at my house when using a 120VAC window A/C unit. The circuit breaker supplying the A/C would trip even though the A/C load should not have been a problem and had been problem free for many years. After the breaker tripped I measured ~80VAC on the...
