"But this story is supposed to be about the great new deal from Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) + Nissan, so let’s jump in.
In addition to the $7,500 federal tax credit for zero-emission electric cars, a...
WOW I just saw this online
http://www.autoblog.com/2016/07/21/spanish-nissan-engineers-build-150-mile-range-leaf-racing/
I guess we now have an answer :) So it looks like those things are mostly for show? I mean, there is still the wheel wells but from that picture right there the leaf looks...
Just got this in the mail and it sounds like Nissan is recalling in leafs to fix the a/c hose cracking problem plus remove a bracket to allow additional 'flex'. The letter also states it will be done at no charge. Not really labeled as a recall but more as a service campaign. THis was sent to...
So just found out reverse on the leaf is not speed limited. I was wondering... with the weight transfer going to the front wheels in reverse ... wouldn't that make the leaf RWD in this scenario? Would the 0 to 60 times be faster due tot his?
That is pretty incredible ! 150k miles and the brake pads are still good to go :) Imagine if the regen had never given up? The pad would be in even better shape! I just wish Nissan could do a replacement on the battery for half that cost :(. I guess that they did not check on the rotors...
That is pretty amazing that the tires lasted so long also no brake change for so many miles :) I wonder if the check up will mention anything about them. Please keep us updated on the finding for the regen!
for the record you still feel the magnetics breaks going down hill just nothing goes in...
Thank you !

Hi Guys,
Just wondering where the DC to DC converter falls in terms of warranty work. Power train or bumper to bumper? Battery is only for the main bat pack, right? Does it not include anything else like the charge ports and what not? Harness?
:D
Congrats and great to see you here. I read the article that was published about your journey it was awesome. I was a little bummed hearing about the big depreciation loss with the leaf and wondered how that played out against the savings plus maintenance costs ice vs ev.
I'm curious you...
THing is that I believe I read one or two posts here that you need to do the battery test check to keep the warranty for the battery good. I find it a little odd that it would void the warranty, but that is what I recall doing.
What happens if it fails the battery check? I didn't even know that...
When to the dealer and asked the question for my used 2013 nissan leaf....
The last time in record that they did the battery check was in 2014 of June...
It is now 2016 May....
I got my leaf in 2015 of July.....
Is my big battery warranty done for? What can I do now?
I removed the carpet on the back and the back paneling to reveal the metallic body of the leaf in the cargo area then lifted the plastic domes from the bottom. They are actually not bolted down and can be lifted somewhat. You can see inside the domes and it looks like the domes are half empty...
So I was wondering if removal of the passenger seat would be a much easier option than removing the whole rear seats... and after reading the service manual SE pg28 it looks like passenger seat removal is just removing the 4 screws that hold the seat extender? bracket then disconnecting the...
