Stanton,
Exactly the advice I was looking for.
I have access to a national data base of salvage cars for sale; the trick will be transport costs.
Thanks again for the thoughtful reply.

I have a 2014 Leaf, 38K miles.
Currently I get about 55 miles with no special driving or turning off the AC (I live in Florida). I should add that's with ECO mode turned off.
It's a very handy car for trips to the grocery store, etc.
I've read the threads about battery replacement, and the the...
My salesman at Bondy's Nissan couldn't give me the technical answers I wanted (about the exact differences between the 2014 electronics and 2013), so I called on an old resource.
My former front desk receptionist (I moved here from Nashville) is married to a "virtual mechanic" at the Nissan...
Killawhat,
I like how you think!
Yes...same here. The Hummer is purely utilitarian, and you can't beat it in the Florida deeps woods/swamp, and for trailering my wife's horses or my boat.
Not so great for a drive to the restaurant, although it gets far more comments than my other cars do.
We...
I still want to swap out the seats on this, with seats from an Altima.
I got the leather package, and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are.
I mentioned in another thread that my wife is quite petite, and she is getting a cushion in the meantime (to boost her height). The...
I'll get some more details on Monday.
I meant to do it this afternoon, but my wife dragged out the honey-do list.
This will be her car BTW, and with the range of the vehicle, probably about perfect for her everyday transport.
She does about 40 miles a day, which isn't a lot, but still puts it...
Called Bosch yesterday and ordered the Power Max with an 18 foot cord.
Registered with them over the phone, and then 10 minutes later the "sales personnel" called back to take my credit card info.
He was pretty up front about the delays in getting these out.
He said the soonest I would get it...
They know all this because when they went over the car prior to my picking it up, they (the dealership) found out.
The service technician found it (I assume that there were some differences that he didn't recognize).
The sales manager then called me to let me know, and that they wanted to go...
Just got my 2013 Leaf yesterday: Ocean Blue, premium package (purchase not lease).
I had ordered it back at the end of June, and it finally came in.
To the surprise of the dealership (and me), the electronics and battery are all 2014. I don't know all the exact differences, but the dealer asked...
Thank you all.
None of this changes the fact that a relatively expensive sedan (Leaf SL) doesn't have seats that are:
a) Power adjust
b) adjustable for a wide range of heights
That's kind of crazy for a $38K automobile.
Switching out seats lets us alternate heights (I'm 6' tall, she's 5'1")...
At maximum height, the seats are not tall enough for her liking.
She is 5'1" tall.
A booster cushion works, but we are thinking of something that works better; hence the replacement seats.

Just purchased a 2013 SL with the leather seats.
The seats are fine for me, but not so great for my wife who is quite petite at 5'1".
I'd like to swap out the seats for a set with power adjustment (forward-back-recline-and most importantly UP)
The seats in our Murano LE are great (no, not to...
