Re: 2018 LEAF Horn Upgrade DIY

I did this recently on my '18 SL. I didn't have any issues with the installation, nor the wiring. My only suggestion is to mount the horns under the main "radiator" core support (or where one would be mounted, on either side of the HV cables coming from the charge connectors) using the supplied bracket and some 1/4-20 bolts. I did have to use a "skew driver" and impact style drill bit to get in such a cramped spot but it makes the install completely hidden once the trim panel is reinstalled. As a bonus, they point forward for maximum effect.

Yet another update....

I'm the guy that installed the Bad Boy horn in my 2018 Leaf. Unfortunately, the Bad Boy has gone bad- now blowing fuses and seems to be shorted out. The short may have to do with the fact that the unit had to be mounted upside down in order to attach it to the car the way I did. I have a feeling water got into it. :(
So just replaced it with a simple low-tone horn from Amazon. Seems to work great, doesn't blow the normal 10A fuse, and this horn actually beeps when you lock the car (the Bad Boy didn't). Success!!
