I kept plugging the Altima and Juke into the Owner's Portal page to see how the manuals for those were formatted. Then I tried applying the same URLs but changing them out for all variations of LEAF, leaf, Leaf. But those didn't work. Then I thought "well, if the file maybe has the same file name format....". So I put "2011-Nissan-Leaf.pdf" into a Google search, and it came up as like the third or fourth link. :D

So we just need the Navigation manual now.

Here is the first responders manual.

Btw, these are accessible without any hacking by selecting Leaf manuals ...

Don't forget the service manual!

From the 2011 Nissan Leaf Owners manual:
Genuine NISSAN Service Manuals for this model year and prior can be purchased. A genuine NISSAN Service Manual is the best source of service and repair information for your vehicle. This manual is the same one used by the factory trained technicians working at a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer. Genuine NISSAN Owner’s Manuals can also be purchased.
In the USA:
For current pricing and availability of genuine NISSAN Service Manuals contact:
1-800-450-9491
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com
Perhaps mwalsh can find that one online too. So who's gonna be the first to call?

Good info on page 4-11 of the manual...

Remote Heat-Cool operation:

The climate control can be operated for a
maximum of 2 hours when the charge
connector is connected to the vehicle, or a
maximum of 15 minutes when the charge
connector is disconnected.

The remote climate control will only start to
operate when the power switch is in the
OFF position. Be sure to check that the
power switch is in the OFF position.

It would appear that there is no way to disable the automatic locking of the doors. I hate that 'feature'. I just don't see the point. You can disable the automatic unlocking, which is no use to me.... But in the event of an emergency where you have to exit quickly, you are probably dazed, your adrenaline is rushing causing you to lose your fine motor skills, are you (well the passengers) going to be able to figure out how to unlock the door during their attempted escape?

If it's anything like my Focus, you just pull on the door handle. Locked or not, the doors will open. From the inside at least...from the outside is a different matter entirely.

mwalsh - Great job finding this! Thanks!

See page 4-9 of the manual. This was referred to in a new test drive ABG article. The article is crap, but it was the first mention I'd seen that you can't charge the LEAF and pre-heat or cool it simultaneously. You have to choose either charging or climate control. Of course, as soon as charging is finished, climate control can begin.

QUOTE:
While the battery is being charged, the A/C- .
Heater Timer (Climate Ctrl. Timer) cannot be
operated until the Li-ion battery available
charge gauge reached the full mark. When
the battery is not being charged, the A/CHeater Timer (Climate Ctrl. Timer) can be
operated, even if the Li-ion battery available
charge gauge has not reached the full mark.

I tried that a few times over the last couple days. I guess the google netbots finally crawled over it. :p

According to the webpage, the printed service manual's aren't yet available, though they're available on-line via subscription and we can purchase the manuals on CD-ROM.

$20 per day, $75/month, $225 a quarter, or $720 for a year of access.

It'll be interesting to see what the CD-ROM costs.

I hope "full" refers to the %limit you have set. So if you are charging to only 80% and it has reached that mark, then it will allow the function (not just the setting of the timer, I assume).

Doesn't that seem to be in direct conflict with the statement a few paragraphs before:

If the timer charge function and the A/C-Heater Timer (Climate Ctrl. Timer) are in operation at the same time due to an overlap of the timer settings, either function can be set to be preferentially provided with electric power. For the details of “Timer Priority” settings, refer to separate LEAF Navigation System Owner’s Manual.
