I thought about posting this in a previous thread (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6330), but that one has Colorado's higher altitude, more elevation gain/loss, lower temps, and is punctuated by an extremely cold finale. I shudder (literally) even trying to compare it to my proposed summertime jaunt.
Total one-way trip is 138 mi, with the lion's share a 78 mi leg between the Pasco Nissan Dealership (387 ft) and Ritzville (1818 ft where Recargo shows an RV park last visited 2 yrs ago). The elevation is relatively constant but ~1500 ft uphill going and ~2200 ft highest point (but with the prevailing wind direction) and the opposite returning. Very few charging stations in Spokane (1843 ft), but certainly passable. There is essentially nothing enroute except the Scablands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scablands), that is unless you want to talk about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coyote_Ridge_Corrections_Center or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_State_Hospital_(Washington)
I would need to leave home full in the afternoon, travel a few miles to the Pasco dealership and top up for an hour or so. I figure 1.5-2 hours to Ritzville, so call it 3 hrs total. Overnight at the Cedars Inn Hotel or tenting it in the park to get back to 100%, maybe 18 hrs of L1 (6pm-12pm), then a quick and easy 60 mi to Spokane. I would probably spend a couple of days doing the tourist thing before heading back. The return trip (baring a nasty headwind which is always likely around here) should be relatively easy due to the 1500 ft drop. The road is a divided 4-lane highway with 65 mph limit, but relatively little traffic by city standards.
I certainly wouldn't do this for time, only as a vacation cruise, probably a week trip. Any locals around Spokane have suggestions?
