Hello and thanks for the picture upload tips. I reposted to this section and delete in "suggestion for Nissan" section

Like I mentioned -using cell phone to start climate control is not my option because I bought my Leaf in US and import to Canada so it has no Carwings (Canada system is different-separate topic).
Also I like using FOB like Chevy Volt or C max energy -just simple click, and no data charging and wasting time.
However there way I did have advantages and disadvantages, and perhaps its not for everyone.
Also when panel removed I add small LED to lit under cigarette plug dark spot where USB port is.
NOTICE-this is 2013 MODEL.

So here are pros and cons compare to use Carwings:

Pros:
-Simple click up to 3km (tested about 2 km with my walke talke & my son on bicycle)
-use last pre-set climate settings instead recirculate like carwings.
-Use heat pump instead PTC heater like carwings.(if temperature above 0C ).
-no delay or data charge (depends of cell phone plan).

Now the cons:
-Leaf has to be set ready to drive in order to operate climate - thanks to SierraQ topic viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7743
-to minimise visibility that Leaf is ON on parking lot navigation screen can be turn OFF by press and hold screen switch.
the LCDs can be dimmed to minimum using push button control on the left side . I go more extreme and have plastic blind to fit and store in the glove box when not in use.

Tools needed and material:
Solder gun, drill and basic hand tools.
Remote FOB/receiver 12V about 20$ on ebay :

1.Remove central climate panel -thanks to EVSEupgrade ;

2.Remove back cover and solder small wires to ON/OFF switch ,flip on other side, drill small hole in back cover to run wire out and seal it with glue.

3.While having panel out I add LED connected to cigarette plug:

4.Connect 2 wire cable from Climate unit (above ) to the 12V receiver and power from cigarette plug (solder)to the receiver. Make sure both wires go between navigation unit so you can close the front panel and not pinch the wires.

5.Wrap and insert receiver in space between air ducts-fits perfect and roll out antenna under dashboard.

6. I also remove -extend LED from receiver and mounted in dashboard (drill small hole 3mm).That way when car is near eg. outside window I can see confirmation when I press remote.
http://imgur.com/69FNPJY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (small red LED) it lit when remote is pressed.

7.Last close the panel in reverse order. Here is my cheap but practical blinds .

I will also post in EVSE section about my portable Level 2 Schneider electric.6 Kw with 50 amp plug NEMA 6-50P.

Next project :illuminated lock /unlock switch -driver side.
