I know that in the Boston area dealers owned by the Kelly group have no intention of installing L3 chargers eventhough they sell cars with Chademo ports.

That's really too bad, it would be great to get at least one in the area. It seems we are living in the dark ages. We have fairly good penetration of L2 in the city and Arlington, Brookline, Cambridge, Newton and elsewhere but no L3 yet. Maybe one of these days, Nissan wants to triple the number the number of Fast Chargers so hopefully Boston is somewhere in their plans.

It's too bad the dealerships don't see this as an investment to help them sell more EVs if people see it is easy and convenient to charge. Heck there are even posts of dealers barring LEAF owners from using their L2s that Nissan required to be certified for LEAD sales. Not that charging at a dealership is convenient for many but it's nice to have the option if in the area.

I've come to find a lot of Nissan Dealerships are not to keen on the maintenance of the Leaf. Marlboro Has JUMPED at the opportunity to service them, as well as milford, I've visited both, and I live dead middle of both. And I know THe Leaf Specialist at Marlboro Nissan are extremely well versed in the Leaf. Jim and Tyler both delivered my car and they live the leaf. Tyler actually is Leasing one and I pulled in on delivery day and my New leaf was parked next to Tylers charging!

If you're looking for a dealership to service or Purchase a new Leaf, Marlboro Nissan is the place to go.

Agreed Nissan should be advertising / installing QC at many dealerships.
No one can predict the future so I understand uncertainty on QC stations or lack there of.
I am looking at leasing for 3 years. My initial reflex was to get QC port.
My question is why try to get QC port ? It adds a few thousand to price and unless you drive to NYC you can't use this as there are no QC in New England.

I would think the leaf SV model with 6.6 kw charger would be the way to go???

Thanks

Tom

Just picked up a 2013 Leaf SV almost a month ago from Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence, MA.
Overall it was the best car purchase experience that I've ever had. Technically speaking they have a lot to learn, but as an engineer I'm fine with knowing more about the car than they do.

I look forward to seeing more of us on the road!

Here's a link to MA 1579, a bill in process that may allow for more charging infrastructure, kWh based public charging fees, TOU metering, tax credits/rebates, and EV education. There's a hearing in the statehouse on 11/12/13.

There is an eaton level 3 at the Darien, CT southbound rest stop now (it is NOT one of the Tesla units). I also hear that there will be a total of 20 units put in at rest stops in the state. There are only 20 rest stops in CT so I assume 1 per stop. If so, SWEET!!

Well, it seems that you were incorrect. The Kelly Nissan in Woburn now has an L3 charger that I've successfully used on a few occasions. I believe that the other Kelly locations also now have L3.

Check in note on PlugShare says there are 2 CHAdeMOs there! Nice!

A new CHAdeMO station popped up this evening in West Haven, CT. It's on the ChargePoint map and it's listed as Available. From the name and description, it appears to be a Car Charging Group station and it's located in the parking lot of a CVS store. It might be one of the ones Car Charging Group announced months ago -- IIRC, Nissan was giving them something like 40 or 50 stations to install in CA and the East Coast.

Its on Plugshare too, or did you just put it up there? A QC at a CVS? Thats new.

I put it on Plugshare.

I took a second look at the entry on ChargePoint's map...this QC appears to be limited to 75amps, or about 30kW. Not bad, but not great, either. Is anyone close enough to test it out and confirm the power level?

I found an article that discusses the arrangement between Nissan and CCG that I mentioned. http://www.hybridcars.com/nissan-ca...ev-quick-charger-network-educating-consumers/

However, since the power level seems to be limited to 30kW, I'm not sure if this station is actually one of the Nissan branded ones or not.

Connecticut seems to be a hotbed of QC growth!

The ChargePoint ones here are all Eatons, which I've heard, can have selectable power levels.

CP also shows something at Crest Ford in Niantic. Does Ford have a QC capable car? Must be a mistake.

I think it's getting that information about the Ford dealer from another database, probably the AFDC website. http://www.afdc.energy.gov/ The station was listed on PlugShare for a while but someone removed it. I doubt it's real, although stranger things have happened. Blink installed QC's at a Ford dealer and 2 Toyota dealers in the Phoenix area, as well as at a Toyota dealer in the San Diego area.

When using ChargePoint's map, I always uncheck "Other Networks", because who knows where that junk is coming from.

The station at the CVS in West Haven, CT is now charging $0.49/kWh according to the ChargePoint map. Not a bad deal when you consider that CarCharging charges the same rate at their Level 2 stations.

Anyone notice the west haven DCQC had been removed from plugshare? Also a new one added in RI at schneider

West Haven is there, check your filters, you have to check off pay for use to see it.

RI Schnieder says CHAdeMO, but no pic, needs confirmation.

Also, 2 QCs just appeared on UMass Amherst campus.
