Leafspy + dongle (ELM 327) errors

I have purchased 3 so far. 2 bluetooth ones and one WIFI one.
One off ebay and one off aliexpress (see below pic). WIFI one off aliexpress.
None of them work with Leafspy.
I get error on the bottom of Leafspy saying
Bts read failed (see below screenshot)
The WIFI seems to start connection and some activity showing at bottom but it just seems stuck in a loop with errors resetting it back to start.
Any ideas on what is wrong/

I have had a hard time connecting with new version of Android. My old tablets still connect though.

Why don't you use one of the adapters that are described in the LeafSpy documentation and are known to work ?

Open LeafSpy Pro, open the three dashed lines in the upper right corner, open ? About & Help, open Application Help.
