I know there are a few folks here on mnl who have doubled their 3.5kW charging capability. I can't tell if this is a similar process or not. So - has anyone heard of these folks. I used the search tool and couldn't find anything here already posted.

You'll find several MNL links on the subject, but here's one to start with. I haven't followed closely, but it is a J1772 EVSE, not an addition to your car to add charging capacity.

I have the Juicebox from them. I ordered the assembled unit and just had to add my power cords and charger plug. I don't know about it doubling the 3.5kW charging capability, but I didn't have a level 2 evse at my house anyway and this was a lot cheaper than the other units I looked at. It came quick too.

Just because you have the EVSE current does not mean the car charger will use it. if you have a 40A JuiceBox and a 2011 car then it will only take 16A of the available 40A. My 2013 would take around 27A of the 40A. On the other hand Pchilds RAV4 EV would take it all.
