Is trickle charger equipment covered under warranty and/or Service Plan?

Hello -
I have a 2011 Nissan Leaf SL and almost never use the trickle charger, but recently needed to use it several days in a row. On the third day the trickle charge started, then stopped very shortly afterward, and it has repeatedly done this time and again. It does not seem to want to start and hold the charging process, even though the Timer is off and all other conditions (source, etc.) seem fine.
Will this piece of equipment be replaced by Nissan under the warranty, or if not the warranty, then perhaps the Service Plan that I purchased? Anyone else have this problem?

Per the warranty booklet of my '13 Leaf, it should be covered under the 5 year/60K mile warranty.
