Indianapolis to replace fleet with electric autos

Somewhat ironic, given that Indiana generates 90% of its electricity from coal, behind KT at 93% and WV at 97%, but that is not the fault of the city government. As they say, they are helping reduce dependence on foreign oil.

Sierra Club and other groups trying to help IPL close their coal plant and switch to cleaner sources. It's that or have the rate payers pay for over $600,000 of upgrades. I'd go with the clean sources which would make charging the electric cars in the city cleaner all around.
