Thanks for posting that here. I read that the other day and posted it elsewhere.

I've posted about the insane fueling costs over at the below:

Those would be insane to buy unless one had access to free/very cheap H2. Might be a good idea to park and/or hypermile a leased FCEV once your free included fuel (e.g. $15K worth) is gone.

https://www.hydrogeninsight.com/tra...e-subsidies-offering-50-discounts/2-1-1602437 from Feb 2024 is comical too.
"The government provides subsidies of 22.5m won per vehicle, which is topped up by a further 10-12m won by multiple local authorities."

32.5 million KRW is about $23,544 USD. :)

It really cracks me up when folks in other forums and FB groups push H2 FCEVs, at least for consumer automobiles. If they're in the US, I bet they don't drive one, don't look at https://m.h2fcp.org/ and don't pay for H2.

My memory about hydrogen is that it’s got huge problems for stuff like storage (it will literally evaporate through stainless steel) so it’s considered more of a short term battery than a fuel. It’s also not a whole lot better than electric which is why electric was chosen for everywhere but Japan, which has unusual population layout. It would probably work well for new Zeland and maybe also Australia because it’s more or less a ring population wise but the outlay for a distribution system was so high it was basically impossible everywhere else. Maybe Hawaii too.
